http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPFN-B6SWXI 9.58 seconds, fully a tenth of a second faster than his previous record. Incredible. How much faster can he go? Will anyone else ever beat his record?
He can definitely go faster. He was looking around for challengers with 30 meters left. He's inhuman. Gay ran like a 9.71, a fantastic time, and wasn't even close. I actually feel sorry for Gay. If not for Bolt, he would be a really big deal right now.
9.71 was a new American record, wasn't it? I heard this morning that Bolt reckons he'll break 9.4 seconds.
Me too. "Bolt" is probably the best name ever for a sprinter. The only thing better is if it turns out "Usain" is Swahili for "Lightning". On the other hand, "Gay" is just...
looks like he's done it again. 19.19 in 200m today, shattering his own previous record by 0.11 of a second and over half a second faster than the rest of the competitors. I have no superlatives. Let it be writ in ages to come: "What a Guy!"
Surprisingly he also notched up one of the fastest times around the Top Gear track. If you watch the show much you'd know they have a section called "Star in a reasonably priced car" which involves a famous person racing around the track in a fairly normal everyday car (not a supercar or turbo-anything). They have a leaderboard with dozens of names on it. Here's what happened the time Bolt came on: [yt=The fastest man on two legs tries his hand at four wheels]HTk17C8jL5w[/yt]

Before posting the above, I waited to make sure that the United States didn't drop the baton in the semi-finals. They didn't. But a review of the race showed the U.S. made a pass outside of the zone, so they were disqualified. The United States will not be in the 4x100 meter final.
