Remember how Obamacare would send premiums through the roof? http://www.kaiserhealthnews.org/Daily-Reports/2014/April/17/implementation-issues.aspx
^Yep, the disinformation campaign seems to be faltering. Damn facts... Before and after Obamacare: Has It Worked? Enrollment in the insurance exchanges established under the Affordable Care Act ended for most people on March 31. A look at what we know so far about Obamacare's effectiveness, and what we don't yet know.
What hasn't? The actuarial projections for next year? Brilliant deduction. Obamacare Enrollment Hits 8 Million
It's even more brilliant than that, of course. The mandate penalty for 2014 is pretty small but becomes more significant pretty rapidly. The pool of people who haven't signed up for insurance skews young and healthy. The result of that is that the pool of people who haven't signed up and who will in the next two years as the penalties phase in skews young and healthy, i.e. we will almost certainly see reductions in premiums as the mandate penalty phases in.
Obabamacare could resurrect Reagan and I wouldn't give a shit. It's still a horrible law which forces individuals to purchase insurance, it's unconstitutional and it forces people to subsidize other people. No matter what good it does (which is very subjective), if any good at all, it still sucks.
So, what we can gather from this is that, despite all your MLM pitch, you don't actually give a sliver of a damn about people or their needs. What you're actually about is promoting yet another unjustifiable expansion of Federal power over the people.
On the contrary, I understand his need to keep posting in this thread, but it's more about sucking up to you than anything else.
Not at all on the contrary. Someone points out the harm this law does to individual people, and your response to that is mockery of the plight of individuals. Don't even pretend, past this point, that you give a damn about individuals. You just got done blowing that pretense out of the water.
Yes, I realize he's crushed by the fact that it's not working out they way you and he predicted, but you're his mentor; it's your responsibility to comfort him.
And now you think you can bury that under more of your tired old Tupperware pitch? You can't. You're not living this down:
So you think there's an actual possibility Reagan could rise from the dead? That would harm a lot of people.
I can't reply to the Federal Farmer post upthread for some reason, but I just love it when people who are almost definitely being subsidized by the top 10% whine about people subsidizing other people. It's always fun to watch people convince themselves they're on the "payer" end when, statistically speaking, they're probably not.
"almost definitely"? That isn't good enough. Show some definite evidence that FF is being subsidized by anybody.
Back in the fall he first claimed he only made around 20K, which made him exactly the target demographic for the ACA. Then he claimed his wife made 70K+ so he'd be joining her plan. Now he's just parroting Castle. I give all of it equal credibility, which is to say none at all.
Awesome. Give yourself a pass on everything you think about what's going to happen not coming true. You don't like it just because.....I mean totally awesome. I hope anyone who thinks you're worth having a conversation with about Obamacare reads this first and doesn't bother. You can go back to your playpen and break all the toys, then go hold your breath until you turn blue. Castle made the same point. No matter what happens you hate Obama, you hate Obamacare and you'll never change your mind. You and Castle are nothing more than white noise.
I don't care if Obama himself were paying directly for my healthcare, it's still unjustifiable force.
