Why is one hand feeling colder than the other? And can this be fixed easily without yet another trip to the doctor/urgent care?

I have up upload the photos elsewhere because they're too large, but I dunno if the color difference should be worrying. A tinge more blue on the left than right and with all the other crazy symptoms I've had this month that have gone away (headaches from eye strain, sciatic nerve in leg), I'm already gonna have two more bills going into collection as it is. Had my heart checked out Sunday and that's going strong according to the doc that did my EKG, so not likely a heart attack.

But I've done nothing going to bring on the chest pain (albeit disappearing each day) I've had and I'm not spending another 100 dollars or more for another visit to be told there's nothing there. :brood:

^Are you under more stress than usual lately? If the doctors found no physical cause, it could be anxiety. JMO. :clyde:

Yep, anxiety and also indigestion can both bring on similar symptoms to what you describe. Sadly, so can microcardial infarction. You probably aren't at huge risk for that, and if your heart was recently checked out, I'd say some Ganga and some Rolaids ought to do the trick.

Not especially. I changed jobs three months ago to one where I'm making a bit less money and my family is still not making money because no one wants to move out the town, and I don't socialize that much anyway.

    So, nothing new.

    Anxiety is a good call.

    Could also be nerve problems/damage.

Anxiety would be my guess, do you drink much caffeine?

    Glucose came up normal.

@Dan Leach, if anything, I've had less caffeine than I used to. Changing jobs meant earlier hours, and hitting traffic, so I've inadvertently cut out the Venti Frappuccinos and getting the 8 Oz cup at work.

I've had anxiety before and it's never been like this. Usually, it'd be work related or when my brother was being a twat but aside from money, there aren't any new, immediately pressing problems.

All this along with it being difficult to finish a meat that I could eat with ease last month. I'm assuming my thyroid is normal because the nurse at the last urgent care visit told me they usually won't call if the tests are all normal. :sigh:

But fuck, I feel exhausted, lately. Like, I me finally back to sleeping and not worried about some of the other symptoms, but I still feel tired by the time I drive to work.

I'd work in my area of San Diego, but it's low income and there's nothing but retail Jobs there and I have a guaranteed 45 hours a week where I'm at, even if the pay sucks.

One hand colder than the other (or anything on one side of your body being different than the other side like that) generally says "circulation" to me. You heart can be pumping fine, but the blood isn't getting everywhere it needs to go at the same rate. How about time of day? In other words does one hand feel colder first thing in the morning, during your busy workday, or is it all the time?
Something to help if you narrow things down if you are googling this.

It had just started this afternoon. It's gotten somewhat better, but I still don't feel 100 percent. Drank a lot of water today and feel like I've gotten some energy back but I still feel like something isn't right.

Definitely monitor it closely. Lagging energy (especially in a young person in their prime) may be the sign of something serious.

One hand colder than the other doesn't necessarily mean anything serious. I had it happen to me all the time when I was younger. It can be a precursor to a migraine, however. I would suggest taking an aspirin not some other kind of painkiller, because aspirin thins your blood and can ease circulation problems that you might be having.

Aspirin can also undermine other medical conditions.

Bottom line it's hard to tell from just having this for one day. Over a few days a pattern might emerge, which would help you (or a doctor) diagnose it a lot better.

Google says it could be thoracic outlet syndrome. It can cause color changes; it comes from nerve or blood vessel compression, so it makes sense for it to be only on one side; and it usually affects otherwise young and healthy people. If that's it, then the good news is that it looks like it's a pain in the ass, but not serious and some types are fixed with physical therapy rather than surgery.

Nerve compression is consistent with the sciatica she mentioned.

In the arm and chest, though?

What started this whole trip down the rabbit hole was shooting pains in my legs and what I thought to be clamminess in between my toes and fingers the day after labor day, along with the headaches. 911 came out and said my heart seemed to be fine, so I went to urgent care to see if maybe it was blood clots, which the doc ruled out.

So, I set myself with a primary care doc (or rather, his RN) where she figures the headaches were caused by eye strain (I'd gotten a new S7, with a slightly smaller screen than my previous Note 4) and sciatic nerve pain cuz my ass was literally sore...and not from being chained and rode like a horse, as Jeriko once wished for us liberals ;)

And now, over the past week, my appetite has dwindled, I've lost six pounds between my first urgent care visit and the one on Sunday, ten days apart from each other. I get a cough at night when I go to bed, and I feel myself getting more irritable as today as worn on for no reason, despite finally getting six hours of sleep the past few nights. I haven't felt the palpitations since Sunday, but I'm still tired. I'm worried since I spend a lot of time alone what could happen if I get sick by myself. And while I've given up on any notion that I'll ever be married or will ever truly get over the high school trauma and everything that came after it, it would be nice to meet more people in general.

A guy I work with has sciatica. I don't know what it is but it's something with pain in his back - I think he screwed something up squatting or dead-lifting or something or maybe he's had sciatica since he was in the army and recently exercise messed him up. Regardless he's in a lot of pain and going to the doctor a lot. Another guy in my shop has some kind of neck mobility thing (had surgery a couple of years ago involving this problem) and takes a lot of painkillers. Yes we are all middle-aged or elderly so not too surprising I guess.

Hmmm.....the loss of appetite is strange. Maybe something to do with being tired or something.

Also, in the time it took to write the post above Oldfella's, (number 21) I felt a burning sensation in my left arm. I'd felt something like that in my upper elbow last night but it went away fairly quickly. It is hard to sleep since I sleep on my left side and it can get numb or I feel the pressure on my chest.

Also, is there any assistance for payment of med bills? I heard NPR recently discuss a plan that was kinda like insurance for your premium if, like me, you got stuck with a ridiculous deductible and don't qualify for Medicaid....mostly because I worked in sales for half the year and that income truly fucked me over for calculation.

    California.

I got this place because my original post Navy plan was school. A buddy from the Navy needed a roommate and i needed something that wasn't my mom's place. Then I got the job at MINI that I enjoyed, but the pay plan was complete shit and was talked into trading in my car for a new one that nearly doubled my payment because MINIs tend to crap out after 80k miles since I'd just gotten the loan on that car a year and a half earlier (with neatly seven percent interest that I later found out was complete shit).

I'd need at least $5000 a month to even get a shitty condo in East Village (the ghetto place in downtown where Dinner volunteers) and live comfortably, and close to 7k to live within driving distance of where I work.

Pwrsonally, I'm glad I have a car to be able to drive to work, something we didn't always have growing up and which my mom with all her many, many, many fears of crime everywhere outside of our suburban bubble that only hired tokens, would never even consider.

That said, there's a reason I stopped with the :ecc: once shit at MINI went south. ;)

I have a reporter friend who works at one of the San Diego stations who'd love to have me come to work there, but the pay there is complete shit. I make almost twice as much as what the starting pay there would be. :jayzus:
