After I don't know how many months' absence, I come visit Wordforge for a few minutes and see this.

Actually, I'm just visiting a bit. Unfortunately, I simply don't have the time for Wordforge anymore.

 

Too bad. I loved all your picture threads from your travels. Always interesting and neat. Glad you still stop by to visit from time to time, at least. . How's life?

 

Life is great!

Still traveling a lot. In fact, I just got back from Madagascar (eleventh visit, where I am as involved as ever with orphanages), and am already making plans for my next (fourth) trip to Burkina Faso (leaving the 1st of January). Plenty of other things, too.

I would have loved to have the time to hang around Wordforge during the election, and I was as stunned as everyone else by the result (at least I don't have to talk about leaving the country, since I already did that 40 years ago... ), but that was just when I was leaving for Madagascar. Now that I'm back to France, though, I thought I would come by and see what's happening here.

I already know your old screenname. One of the first things I did was to look through the "name change" thread so I could find my way around.

But of course, you didn't have a choice about changing your screenname, or what you would change it to.

 

At least make a photo update before you dip out again!

We still don't have a reasonable explanation for why gturner was banned.

Please, unban gturner.

 

I'll state for the record that my only intention when I called for the ban was because of him letting people into his accounted having no idea what he (or they) were doing . At that moment it had fuck all to do with his politics.

Not that I expect anyone to believe that, but it is what it is.

 

I do believe it. I also think this whole mess shows that in the future there needs to be a clear and simple policy to state reasons for bans immediately and clearly.

 

You know, when Anc "bought the board" there was something said about ownership changing completely every year.

Gturner shouldn't be banned, because Gul shouldn't still be "an owner."

 

No he's a cunt who was out to completely wreck the board with shitposting divisiveness. Now if you think he is your troll god, great go over to TK and worship him.

Or go read his post where he's fairly blatant about his methods and motives.

His one slip. Enterpriser would have never made that kind of slip, not even by PM. I guess the adulation of it all got to him.

But if you want to kiss his ring, you better hurry! I sense that TK has too small of an audience for him and that he'll be moving on to greener pastures soon.

He was banned because they didn't like him. They should post up the link to the post they're referencing, because it's really pretty pathetic as "proof". And even if he was just trolling as they claim, that isn't against the rules in the Red Room. So really what it comes down to is that they didn't like him, and the final straw was that he embarrassed them by showing others he'd been banned from posting in the forum at all, including the little gulag forum they'd made for all the people they don't like. Yeah, they claim he could have just PM'd them, but considering how they'd treated him to that point, I doubt they'd have done anything and probably just would have mocked him and claimed he was lying.

 

gturner helped stir the pot here. He should be unbanned.

 

I was vocally in favor of unbanning him. I asked about the reference to his scheming and was provided a link to the TK thread. I didn't find it damning, more to the effect of: "it's easy to troll left and right wing forums." Not: "that's my MO and raison d'etre."

On the other hand the amount of sheer noise he produced was prodigious. I don't miss him a bit, except a little outside of the RR.
