IIRC you are not a Christian (correct me if I'm wrong).

Nothing a non Christian says about what is "Christian" is worthy of consideration.

If you are a Christian then I apologize.

If you are not a Christian I'm under no obligation to do so.

Well then the reverse would also be implied, anything a Christian says about a non Christian isn't worthy of consideration.

If I said to a non Christian something along the lines of

"Your conduct is very unatheistic you would be right.

Good. Nice dialogues, good performances by the principal actors. It's fast and exciting. Nostalgic and emotional. Grand and epic.

If you liked the OT you'll either like this film or get frustrated, though.

Terrific. Not perfect--kinda repeats the beats of ANH--but very much a return to form after the prequels. Funnier (in a good way) then I'd expected. 8/10.

Well, I guess it's a good setup for the next movie, where Luke's adopted son (played by Chris Pine) used teamwork and technology to straighten out the dysfunctional family drama and get the galaxy to turn away from rule by mystical assassins and form a united federation of planets.

My spoiler-free take: It's Star Wars. Not like the original trilogy, but it's a new kind of Star Wars. And it's good. A blend of the best of the old with a newness that can carry the franchise forward.

Different than the prequels: I cared about the characters and what happened to them. I want to see where the story goes. And I have many, many questions. ..

ETA: It definitely LOOKS like Star Wars in all the right ways.

This. There was great character development. We needed to learn about them, and they too needed to learn about each other. I have a very good feeling about this trilogy.

9/10, maybe my new third favorite.

    Daily Mail article

In another galaxy! Harrison Ford nets £23m from Star Wars (that’s 76 times more than newcomer Daisy Ridley)

    ... snip ...

His salary is more than 76 times greater than that of British newcomers Daisy Ridley and John Boyega.

They received £300,000 each for their starring roles in the movie, which opened in UK cinemas on Thursday.

    ... snip ...

Carrie Fisher, 59, was paid just over £1 million to bring back Princess Leia.

It's good to be a white male!

Harrison Ford was a virtual unknown and paid less than £7,000 when he first played Han Solo in 1977.

Daisy Ridley and John Boyega are both largely unknown and are getting paid considerably more than Ford was, even adjusted for inflation.

I'm sure both Ridley and Boyega will be doing fine in 40 years... just like Ford is.

The Daily Fail is just trying to make a story where none exists.

Not sure if that was in response to my post, but there's two big differences:

    1. Unlike the prequels, TFA didn't suck balls.

    2. Unlike Llyod and Christensen, Ridley and Boyega can act.

Pretty good, not perfect, but no huge flaws that ruined the experience for me. KJ came across someone who ranked it 3rd among SW movies, I'd say 3rd or 4th would be a fair initial ranking. Will expand my thoughts in the spoiler thread some other time.

One of my boys ranks it as second best. I'd say third, but it's a real close call between it and ANH. And to be honest, it's even a close call between it and ESB. It's really on the same level as those two.

Which isn't all that surprising, since this is, basically, a remake of Star Wars with bits and pieces of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi sprinkled in.
