I don't hate everything after 1992, I just re categorize it... although this guy put on the most boring live performance I've ever witnessed these dudes live, OTOH... (RIP Brockie)
Two from some other folks I've known for a while. Only one is a cover-and more of a remake, but they're from the same album. Actually, of all the things friends achieved musically, this is the best.
A couple of years ago I picked up a Dwight Yoakam greatest hits compilation. I'd forgotten how many of his hit songs were covers of other hit songs.
Holy shit! Mike Patton covering (fuck that, NAILING) the Bobby Womack classic "Across 110th Street" which means.......if I have to explain it you don't have a clue, so I guess you should google it. \ Granted I love the original but Mike Patton really brings it to another level, like he does The Commodores "Easy". Enjoy!
Mike Patton is truly a musical genius. His music past Faith no More gets weird, but is also very very good. Mr. Bungle specifically. He did a little bit of video game voice work, too, for the game adaptation of the comic "The Darkness." He was really good in that. Wish he did more.
Good cover of a classic song that would be ballsy to take on. Granted there is cool military shit going on (apparently they are a big "support the troops" kind of band) that brings back some cool memories of my sandbox days, so there is that. But I think they did a respectable job of covering this.
