Looks like something trying to be deep and thinky that is vapid and shallow. But it might have substance, I cannot tell from a clip. I give it 80 percent disappointment probability. I like Tom Hanks so it might amuse me.
I didn't realize Wes Anderson had a new film coming out. I'm cautiously optimistic but his last few movies have been hit or miss with me. I love Moonrise Kingdom but didn't care much for The Grand Budapest Hotel. I love Isle of Dogs but didn't really like The French Dispatch.
I didn’t like The French Dispactch that much either. I think there might have been one joke that I laughed at.
It seems like Hope Davis is in everything these days. Your Honor on Showtime, Perry Mason on HBO, and now this movie.
Only saw Moonrise Kingdom once, but remember liking it. The Grand Budapest Hotel is terrific. Rushmore is probably my favorite because I am Max.
So... like most of his films? (I honestly like a lot of his movies, but I've realized he's largely a one-trick pony.)
So this dropped on Amazon the other day. I thought it was a fun little story. There's not much to it and it's very meta, but it had some funny moment that I liked quite a bit. Definoitely not his best work and I don't think Tom Hanks really fits in a Wes Anderson movie, but from what I hear, the role was originally for Bill Murray which makes sense.
I saw it on Hulu several months ago and I'm still not sure what to think about it. I need to rewatch it soon.
Wasn't Wes Anderson's best, wasn't his worst. Overall was enjoyable though It actually does make a lot of sense if Bill Murray was originally up for Tom Hanks' role, Hanks didn't feel like a fit
