Matheny got badly out-managed the past two games--his handling of the bullpen was shit! Why he relies so heavily on Randy Choate, who has proven NOTHING lately, is beyond me. Should've kept Waino pitching in the 8th, at least until he show signs of trouble. I'm not saying it would've changed anything in the long run, but the Cardinals would've been in a better position to win at least one of those games! Ugh! I wanted another I-70 series!
With all their recent success, the Giants still haven't won the World Series at home, and they won't this year either.
I was quite pleased by games 2 and 3. I understand they are considering some short rest pitching assignments. Hopefully it's a sign of desperation, and not cold calculation.
It's a little early for desperation for the Giants. They've been here before, it's only a 2-1 deficit.
Nice comeback by the Giants. Petit has done great work from the pen during the playoffs. Two more win to go!
So, we get a seven game series, and yet, this really hasn't been very good. Rather than six fantastic and competitive games bringing us to this final moment of everything on the line for both teams, instead we had a series of trading routs. Really very little in the way of good baseball except for game 3. We'll, game 7 is always good, so there's that, but overall, I give this World Series 1 out of 4 stars.
