The answer is no. The answer is no, they were not eating the pets.

Why would you even entertain the notion that they were eating the pets? There are times where you don't need to pretend to be unbiased, because in that implicit push for non-bias, you reveal privilege and a blind spot for racism.

She could have done to him what he did to Biden. I would have understood it. But clearly she thought "what is there to gain by going down in the gutter with the opponent? I have more self respect." For that she should be admired, not scorned.

I disagree. Never give fascists a single iota of respect. What are you respecting about them? The office? They're going to use that to crush you.

The economy was great today. Stocks went up super high. Thanks J'Biden!

And if this keeps up AND Trump gets rid of the federal income tax, now we're talking.

It just dawned on me that if Biff's second term is anything like the first (and anything like the campaign even) his administration will leak like a sieve. :corn:

I saw a graph earlier today that showed Big Pharma donations by party, the Democrats took way more Big Pharma money than Republicans by a huge margin. No wonder they were going after RFK Jr.

Do you think the Canadian authorities are prepared for the influx of celebrities who are going to flee to Canada now that Trump is elected?

I live in a pretty Trumpy area. 2016 and 2020 the neighborhood was littered with Trump signs. This time around I saw two. That’s all. Of course I thought maybe people were just tired of Trump. Nope. Those sumbitches just went stealth.

So far I've seen two people (Federal Farmer and Azealia Banks) gleefully admit to voting for Trump after claiming they didn't support him back when it looked like they were going to lose.

Trumpers are nothing if not greasy little cowards. :async:

They’re going to Europe, taxes are too high here for them

The thing I’m really excited for is the next 4 years of you stumbling over yourself to defend awful decisions that trump makes that threaten your democracy and go against your constitution, two things you’ve been telling us all for years how important they are to you

Only then will your fail be fully complete

While there's a good chance you're right about this, tariffs are pretty low on my list of things to be worried about.

The only reason I mentioned tariffs was this idea that Trump's going to actually help the economy, that @Steal Your Face's comments about the income tax would indicate some kind of fiscal improvement for most Americans, when it simply will not be the case. The Trump administration won't care one whit about average Americans trying to survive.

Behind a paywall but here's a screen shot from the Wall Street Journal. :jayzus:

    Gbu69qUXIBMpLqJ.jpg

Quoting from Xitter: Cattle rancher Nick Nalder wants Trump to use tariffs to raise the price of foreign beef, so Nick can charge Americans higher prices for his beef. Nick also hopes Trump will "rein in inflation" - but for him, not for his customers.

If I wasn't too fucking old and had some sort of in-demand skill I'd be knocking on the doors of Canada, Australia, New Zealand...maybe even the UK. The good news is that it will probably take long enough for the collapse to happen that I'll either be dead or past caring. :brood:

This. I constantly hear this in right wing circles, especially from older boomers, that the "illegals" are being given $5,000, free houses, food stamps, and the right to vote so that Democrats can stay in power. It's completely out of touch with how everything works in this system.

This BBC article does a good job dispelling those rumors: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5yj98grr5lo
