While everyone else saw Godzilla this weekend, as hard as I tried I couldn't get the wife to go see it with me, so we had to pick something else to watch instead. That's when I saw that Jon Favreau's new movie "Chef".

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. I've always like Favreau as a director, but in this movie he's also the star, playing Chef Carl Casper. I won't get into the plot too much as it's more fun to watch the story unfold. But for a small movie it has a fantastic supporting cast including Sofia Verga, Dustin Hoffman, Scarlett Johansen, Robert Downy Jr., John Leguizamo, Oliver Platt and Bobby Cannavale.

This was a really fun, light comedy that was simply enjoyable to watch. And the food....OMG, the food shots in this film will leave you jonesing for huge steak afterward. I highly recommend checking this one out.

Sounds like my kind of movie. People interacting with no special effects and a good story.

Thanks for posting this. I'll have to go see it just for the food -- I still haven't been able to get the food porn imagery out of my head from Eat, Drink, Man, Woman.
