NOTE: I am fully aware that this is in the wrong thread, but a large chunk of Wordforge posters don't seem to visit the Workshop often. So I'm gonna risk it and post here for advertisement purposes, and see how long it lasts. I'm a bastard like that, I know, but this is very important to me. So here's the post:

    --------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: You can vote once every day, and it runs on Brighton, England's time, so if you are up for it, vote as often as possible!

My album cover design is in this competition, you need to go and vote for it NOW! NOW! RIGHT NOW! He says it ends in "a couple weeks" but the original timeframe was a week, so I want no dallying from you, my good friends of Wordforge!

My cover is the first on the page, there are twelve entries, and the voting poll is beneath the images.

Here is the link to the page:

    http://professorelemental.com/fr_competition.cfm

    And here is my entry:

Good job! But in all honesty I liked #7 the best. But every single one was great - almost too close to call.

When it comes to promoting the creative efforts of most any member here an advertisement like this is welcome, heck, sometimes they are even stickied.

You'd be bored senseless if no one ever "picked a religion fight" with you again.

Vlad, I loved yours the best and I voted. The competition isn't even close, you nailed it.

And I love Professor Elemental and the whole "Chap Hop" genre. It's fucking hilarious.

If it was neck and neck 14 minutes ago, then a lot of votes must have just came in. Right now he is 12 votes ahead of Bolan. Hopefully this isn't considered cheating as a mass influx of votes at one time for the same person usually sends red flags.

Yeah, my friend turned me on to him about a month ago, and I wanted to do some fun character drawings for him. Sent him a tweet, and he responded with info about the album cover competition. Since he saw my design, we've been in loose contact with each other for some other projects as well. A comic book, which I'm already in line to be an illustrator, and some character mock ups for a potential project he's talking to Disney about.

For those that haven't checked him out, here's one of his more well known videos, "Fighting Trousers."

As per the edit, you can also vote once a day, every day, and it runs on Brighton, England's time zone. If you feel up to it, vote every day or as often as possible!

Yeah, #8 jumped up FAST. It's in second place now, not too far behind me. I like it, but I wish it were more colorful. It's a bit drab with the pretty much bichromatic scheme.

I definitely like yours the best, but I do think #2 is my second favorite. Still, yours has the best image going for it, and I don't just mean the art, but also the story it tells. I love it. I do have to wonder why several people were allowed two entries. I'm of the opinion you should get one shot. Pick your choice, and enter it. Two choices means two chances.

Still, you got my vote! :D

Also, I've been listening to Professor Elemental, and so far my favorite track is "Fighting Trousers". :D

    Thank you, sir!

The reason I don't think it's too big a deal to have more than one entry is that it's a contest for the best piece of artwork. I think that if one person has a good piece, they'll submit good pieces and all the better for the album cover. If one person submits a bad piece, they'll probably submit nothing but bad pieces, and they gain nothing anyway.

The album cover is the point of the competition, and anything that yields good results is fair game, in my opinion.

How long is this going to go on?
When are they gonna just let you win already, instead of torturing you?

Shit, the vote for president of this whole stupid country is one damned night.

Yeah, but the whole stupid country knows about it. I can understand leaving it open for a couple days, to give each artist a chance to contact their friends. Not sure why it's over a week for this one.
