Entering the 20th century...

People still make phone calls?

I'm partially joking here, but for the first three months after I came back to the States, my chain of command almost exclusively would contact me with text....most I didn't think to look for because it'd make a chirping noise that I'd usually miss and T-Mobile really blew big time reception-wise on San Diego base and half of them were dropped. But if it's an emergency, people act they don't know what Voice Mail is anymore

I would be in a world of hurt then. I have no idea how to set up "voice mail" or text.
I tried texting my daughter once when I was deer hunting and couldn't very well blow my cover by speaking into a phone. The text went through, but she must have thought I was having a stroke because it was gibberish.

But you know, I think I am ready for the 20th Century...B.C. that is!

Oh, I'm sure Mom would LOVE it if I told her I'd rather text her than talk to her.
