Texas Gov. Rick Perry was indicted last week on felony charges accusing the governor of abuse of power. Perry entered into a plea of not guilty, but for his troubles, now has lost his conceal and carry permit. LINK

well, who is going to shoot those stray coyotes who run around his office area? I here Sarah Palin is looking for something to do. Perhaps he would have her running around him with a loaded weapon? I am personally all for it.

Thats because you don't drink the haterade. For partisan tools like Chardman, a Republican who has criticized the almighty Obama in the past is indicted. That makes it funny. To the rest of us normal folk this is really much ado about nothing.

For those of you who don't know how concealed (or any really gun laws) carry laws work this is very common.
Even suspicion or ongoing investigations into spouse abuse in addition to Rick Perry's situation means a temporary
or sometimes permanent revocation of your ability to carry a gun even on the job.
The powers that regulate guns actually keep a tight reign especially on concealed carry, which is and should be the hardest type of carry to get.
They are revoked constantly here in Georgia, as they should be.
So no, not just anyone can concealed carry just by slapping money down as you gun grabbers would think.
And keeping a concealed carry permit is even harder.
Of course being a suspected felon doesn't keep concealed guns out of the hands of a large percentage of Chicago,
but thank goodness Rick Perry will now have a tougher time spraying bullets into a crowd.

Wasn't there an original series Trek episode about that? One where the children had their own lawyer.

and Captain Kirk did talk about killing them......

Conservatives bond with their guns on a cellular level, so taking away their guns takes away a little piece of them, and kills them a little.
It's like cutting off a cock, or enema-ing out a hunk of soul.
The only thing better would be to hit Perry with a ray that shrivels him up into a mummy, and holding up a mirror, and making him watch, while Chardman blasts a load in his pants.

    Is it more clear now?

For the sake of the opening post, yes.
    All of them.
All of them he ever had in his entire life.
    They were all there.
And they called out to him "Rick!! We grew up together! We love you! Don't let us die! :pwease:".
And then they went into a crusher.
    And a smelter.
    Right in front of him.
    And he cried.
And his wife said "what a fag", and divorced him on the spot.
And Chardman blasted in his pants.

Yup. After his "potatoe" incident in the debates for the last campaign he had an uphill battle to be a Presidential candidate. But as this story is unfolding, he's looking like a victim of partisan politics and liberalism gone wild. The Dems had hoped to use tar and feathers to preemptively end any chance of him running in '16 and instead it looks like they're going to actually boost his brand. :diacanu:

Oh, and 'tardman, you're a retard.

Except for the bit where the Austin Democrats recused themselves from the case and the special prosecutor was appointed by a Republican judge.

Ah. I see. So it wasn't a Democrat who decided to indict a governor for using a line item veto to line item veto something? It wasn't a Democrat who decided to indict the state's chief executive for trying to remove a state executive who had compromised her ability to do her job? :marathon:

It was an entire grand jury, one of whom was active in the Democratic party, that decided to authorize charges sought by a Republican special prosecutor, under the supervision of a Republican judge, who took over from another Republican judge, after Travis County Democratic officials recused themselves from the case.

Retaining the title "governor" years after she resigned seems odd. Is that a title ex-governors typically carry around for life?

I think it's pretty common to keep using it as a courtesy title for ex-governors who haven't gone on to any other public office. Didn't debate moderators all say "Governor Romney," "Governor Dean," etc.?
