I was an "armed escort" for an old friend on a couple of big weed deals back in the day. Quite unnecessary, it was a pretty jovial affair. :)

I was nearly sent to Lagos this year with work, was told I would get a 24 hour armed guard.

The danger money wasn't worth it though and I reckoned the armed guard would probably be someone who had already been kicked out the police. Had visions of me and him getting drunk and him letting me shoot his gun.

The wife and the impending arrival of ministall decreed that I wasn't going.

That's the lamest copout since the Crucifixion.

What do you mean dismantled? They only wanted to have a "midnight basketball" session or a poetry slam, or just "have that conversation" about race relations. Way to stereotype!

I always wondered...does Mike Tyson have a bodyguard?

Back in the day, he probably could have killed most people with a single punch...

He's old now but probably still somewhat formidable.

Good point - I live in Georgia, where guns can be carried pretty much anywhere I would ever need to go.
Except of course in "gun free" zones like military bases where ironically I am then the most vulnerable.
That said I don't carry a gun because nobody really depends on me to stay alive anymore.
My kids are on their own, my life insurance and military retirement benefits will have my wife set up for life, so
getting killed is no problem. I just don't want to get crippled and be a drain on my family financially.
So write that down bad guys: you mess with oldfella you'll have to kill me because I'm sure going to try to kill you.
So do it up right - you only get one chance! Luckily around here most bad guys will kill you or leave you alone
completely - not much middle ground really. That's actually pretty comforting IMO.

Most ex fighters (especially great ones) stay formidable. Muscle memory and all that. Plenty of elderly ex-fighters
fend off younger trouble-makers all the time.

Besides, Mike is cool! Ever seen "Mike Tyson Mysteries?" Kind of a demented version of Scooby Doo but actually funny.

Defused a situation via the defensive use of a firearm by brandishing the weapon without having to fire, you say?
Seems statistically impossible, according to the anti-gun crowd.
Interesting that it didn't result in accidentally shooting a member of your own household.

I seen him in Vegas last summer walking through the forum shops at Ceasers. Shook his hand. He had a guy with him. The guy didn'the really look bad ass. Would rather mess with him than Tyson that's for sure

That's the lamest comeback in the history of comebacks, especially given how long you've been thinking about it.

In any event, why in the world would you want to bump this thread? If you had even a modicum of literacy you'd never consider doing so.

Clearly no one has raised the obvious question of what Face has done this time that he feels he needs a bodyguard. :bergman:
