I was in Maggie Valley over the weekend and saw this in an antique store. That top one is a Springfield 45-70 trapdoor. My grandad had three of those, but donated them to the NRA museum. They were asking $1600.
Did your history teachers fail you? It's a gun designed to look like a drill - you could take it to the poker game in the saloon and not raise any suspicion. It's better than a gun designed to look like a cane or walking stick.
It wasn't my decision. Grandad also had a Sharps 45-70. If one of those had been in that shop, I'd have been all over it.
