Coolio was found dead today. Cause not known for sure. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/coolio-dead-obit-1234602038/
One of his last performances was recording lines as Kwanzaa-Bot for the revival of Futurama. https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/coolio-futurama-kwanzaabot-1235389694/
Why is everyone so shocked? Unless he was all performance and lived a healthy lifestyle 60 is pretty good. If I make the next decade to 60 and am still standing regularly I will be shocked. I have also lived a healthier lifestyle than Coolio portrayed. It has to be expected some of the people living the lavish drug ridden lifestyles of the famous are going to die young. Coolio did make it much farther than others. At any rate, he seems to have had a life where he could do what he wanted and enjoy his success if he allowed himself to. I hope he let himself enjoy the fruits of his success because some people are too focussed on more and more and never appreciate what they have.
Tell us you are racist without telling us you are racist. BTW this is not an insult, this is just pointing out how certain people could use the controversy of a weird Al parody song that was taken offensively by an artist because that artist regarded their song as a very serious look at the realities of the black struggle that should not have been used for humor. Weird Al clearly never does parodies to degrade a work or the artists themselves. But to think you could use a work by a nice person like weird all to pee on the grave of a black artist who took themselves seriously in writing a work regarding black struggles is clearly a very racist thing to do. That song was not written to piss on Coolio's work, so using it to do so because you don't like black people writing about their struggles is just racist poor taste.
I mean....yeah, he did overreact but it's still a....rather odd choice to say you'll honor one artist by listening to the parody from another. It's Media Central so that's all I'm gonna say on that.
