This isn't a whine thread about how I think WordForge is going to die or anything, but I've been very melancholy lately I just noticed how many people from here I really enjoyed interacting with that are either gone or just simply don't post much anymore. marathon FrontLine (still around but very scarce) Storm Muad Dib (RIP) Hood Techman (RIP) dkehler (RIP) SummerTeeth Mallory (RIP) $corp evenflow (still around but very scarce) Uncle Albert Lt. Mewa Tex Tamar Garish Zombie actormike ... and plenty more. Man. I am seriously bummed right now. Feel free to flame me and so forth.
$corpy's alive and well, but mostly on FB. As for feelings of melancholy, I understand them. It's just that change always happens, and sometimes it feels like things have changed for the worse. Still, part of that is our desire to make a place always feel like home, even when some of its occupants wander off to other places. We miss the way things were. That doesn't mean things can't get better. Remember, often what we see in the past through nostalgia is rose colored, and so we forget the frustration and irritation we felt, and we only remember the good things. That makes a difference, too.
Yes. As for the others, people who are in touch with them off site can try to give 'em a kick in the ass for a classic Wordforge reunion.
No, he didn't die...he left because of butthurt about rep. Seriously, I asked him to check the place out a while ago and he said in so many words that rep was a dealbreaker.
Sokar, most likely. Their posting style became similar towards the end, so it's an easy mistake to make.
YES! Sokar! I'm so bad with names and numbers. BTW a lot of these people died way earlier than the average life expectancy. Weird!
A few of those folks are active on Facebook. I hear from Frontline pretty much daily. Mewa and Shakes fairly regularly and Storm on occasion. Tamar and Summer rarely.
On the bright side, Prufrock's around, and Quest is posting more. Though also been a while since I've read/seen faisent. EDIT: oh, I forgot, you suck. And I agree.
People come, people go. I do wish Frontline was around more. And Tamar. On the other hand, Packard has been a lot more active and fun recently.
Eh. I like that people do still drop by here, for the most part. Most other message boards that were created around this time are all ghost towns *cough* Troll Kingdom *cough* plus there will always be plenty of fuckwit Neutered Zone Refugees Rejects such as gtardo to feed our numbers and provide lulz.
Speaking of @Tex, is he still a co-owner of this place? Seems like a waste if he's not posting at all.
TKO split some time ago. Caboose finally got fed up with the more stupid aspects of the community here.
She got tired of the trolls, and had a third of the membership on ignore by the time she left. Caboose left during discouragement-gate.
