With Black Friday coming up, I decided to find a home for my 22lr upper. Swapping uppers at the range is lame and it's possible to drop and lose a couple of small compatibility parts when switching back and forth. This will be the first time I build a lower. From what I've seen on the Youtubes it's not too difficult. The goal is to make the 22lr a near clone of the 5.56. Picked up the lower for $80 during my lunch break. Now I play the waiting game.
I'd like to put together a .22LR AR (and I want a real AR, not a lookalike) but not sure that's going to happen given California's new law.
Yeah, I gave the M&P 15-22 a hard look, but it felt like a toy while handling it at Shoot Straight. I'm glad I went with the CMMG upper. If the Hearing Protection acts gets passed, I'm going to SBR the rifle, put a 4" barrel on it, and suppress it like the video below.
I can't believe any state has a law controlling the .22 rimfire long rifle round. Am I reading this right? Wrapped around the axle over the .22LR squirrel hunting round? Single shot or in semi-auto it's still a squirrel hunting round. Not the red room, but if so........wow!
