If somehow PP does win in October, it'd be a slim minority and he'd last about as long as Joe Who How Carney responds to trump is going to determine if he gets the big chair. Defying him by feeling out EU membership for instance...
Right? It’s not like anyone would ever say “four score and seven” in English. (No seriously that’s where it comes from in old French, vint, meaning score (in the scratch sense of the word, like a tally mark). So if you hate quatre-vingt, you hate Abraham Lincoln )
I trust the dingos, 'roos, clock spiders, hoop snakes, AND drop bears more than our media oligarchs. Hell, I trust the sting ray that did Steve Irwin in more, and yes, it's still too soon
I was referring to Rupert Murdoch owner of Fox News, Sky News, the NY Post, the Wall Street Journal, the Sun, the Times of London and all sorts of other publications that have been JUST GREAT for their respective countries.
Because a lot of what Trump is doing isn't actually new for the US, it's more just that he is more erratic about it. For a long time it's been the case that any US "ally" seeking to restrict or reduce American influence would start hearing murmurings about how they might need a visit from the team America freedom police.
He was born, raised and spent most of his life in Adelaide which is from my understanding the most wretched hive of scum and villainy in a nation renowned for being initially populated by whores and criminals. That taint doesn’t shed easily.
Joe Clark was at least a man of integrity and conscience. The Cons blew it big time by electing Milhouse as their leader, and not embracing the old Progressive Conservative ways.
They're all shite publications. A lot of them were originally independent of each other before falling under the PostMedia banner. PostMedia was originally founded by a Canadian, but our population base simply wasn't big enough to support the number of daily newspapers that were out there, so foreign interests swooped in. But the CBC is just as horribly biased -- just on the other side of the coin. Basically, if you read/watch an article from the CBC and then the National Post, I can pretty much guarantee that the truth lies somewhere between the two.
To be fair, they've been blowing it since Mulroney and losing the "progressive" part to cosy up to the new right.
Silly me. Of course you would know the life of an Australian business tycoon better than me. Looking it up he apparently only learned his business skills and ethics in Adelaide.
Kid of sad, really. The Vancouver Sun used to be a great newspaper with great writers and perspectives It's an absolute joke now since Postmedia took it over, all those good people lost their jobs and it belongs in the supermarket lineup with all the other tabloids
I can't even believe how the polls are trending but it seems Trump is so toxic that the slightest, most tenuous comparison to him is political poison to the point where the electorate will forget just how fucking awful the incumbent government indeed was
I looked it up last night and apparently for almost a hundred years the Vancouver Sun both preceded and was totally separate from the Sun Group tabloids in other cities. It was only through mergers earlier this century that they ended up owned by the same group.
But how empty of a suit is Skippy without Justin to troll? I think all three of the parties that matter came into this year with leadership woes. The Libs just happened to replace theirs first-and with a grown-up.
Looks like we are gonna do something about all the Mexican cartels in Canada after all. SCOOP—Trump plans to issue an executive order designating fentanyl as a "Weapon of Mass Destruction," per copy of EO reviewed by me. Source at State speculates purpose is to designate cartels as terrorist orgs/justify military ops in Mexico/Canada.
