So, got to see the Point Break remake and, meh, it's a lot like a plot for another movie had some of the original Point Break bits shoehorned in and called a remake.

The actual plot could've been turned into some extreme sport hipster Vanishing Point type film, but instead we got something almost entirely unlike the original movie, but on a much bigger scale, yet feeling much lesser.

Some of the updated Point Break elements worked - the clip of the bank robbery with the President masks (Dubya holding a "Mission Accomplished!" sign and Obama with a "Can We Do It? Yes We can!" was moderately amusing), but the Utah firing the gun in the air and the ending... Not so much.

In fact, for the end, they should've just had a blank screen with Peter Griffin walking on and going:

"You want to know how this films ends? Well do ya? The original Point Break. It ends like that. Exactly like that. Now if you're watching this in the theatre, you've wasted valuable time that could've been spent with friends and family. And that makes you terrible, terrible people. Now go home terrible people."

They could at least done a spin on it, with Utah bringing Bodhi in rather than letting him go surf to oblivion, as some form of commentary on "The Man" having no soul or somesuch.

Oh, and it has Ray Winstone in playing... Well, playing Ray Winstone. Just as in Crystal Skull we see him not so much dial it in, as just not bother acting and being a geezer, right, geezaaaaah, roight Jownseeee. Bleh. He's truly become the Bizarro Michael Caine.

I'm not going to say avoid, but don't go out of your way to watch.

I never got why people elevated the first one into some modern classic, so....
