Courtesy of Lawyers, Guns, and Money:

What’s the worst last name ever?

Rules: At least three famous people must have the name, and bad (or tragically misunderstood) people with that name are balanced out by any good people with that name. Also, phonetics count, so Lenin is balanced by Lennon (John and Sisters), and Genghis is made up for by Madeline.

    Potential candidate: Bundy

    McGeorge: Started the Vietnam war.

    Al: Started Married With Children

    Ted: No comment necessary.

    Cliven: See.

I've always thought that libertarians respected court decisions. How else would they make their libertopia come to life without a judiciary? Seems to me they should view Bundy as a crank who has lost time and time again in the court system. But no, he's a rock star because he's defying the courts.

The courts are just the formal-dress arm of the same criminal street gang that's trying to fuck with a private citizen. And refer back to the automotive financing analogy. The Feds paid for that land with OUR money. THEY don't own it, WE do.

It also happens to be self-evidently correct -- but never mind that, let's all get our panties in a knot because it hurts people's feeeeelings.

So speak up, Fleshlight: Are you more interested in preventing minorities from getting their feelings hurt, or are you more interested in seeing them lift themselves up out of the government-dependence-built shithole their communities are sunk into?

Put another way: Do you want them to just feel better, or do you actually want them to be better off?

Courts are a legitimate function of government for settling property rights disputes and other disputes, I agree. That's not to say courts are infallible or incorruptible, they are. They can make he wrong decisions, case in point, Dred Scott, Obamacare, Citizens United, etc. Ultimately courts are an extension of the state. They are loyal to the state. Here's a basic example: let's say you get a speeding ticket, when you go to court do you stand a chance against the testimony of a cop? Every time the court will take the court's side unless you have some overwhelming evidence to support your innocence. The laws are written in such a way that the deck is stacked against you. Unless you have a lawyer, even with the smallest of charges, you're fucked. In the case of the BLM, they make the rules, they decide what land is theirs or not, so of course they won in court. Unless you have an activist judge, the only thing the courts can do is decide in favor of the state, they really have no choice.

Why even address this, you must know that this is just a distraction tactic? They just want to change the subject rather than talk about the actual subject of this thread.

He is? What am I being recruited to do, hmmmm?

If you'd bothered to read my previous posts in this thread, you'd have discovered that I'm not one of his supporters. But please, continue with the straw men that fit your narrative, it's easier that way....

The point you seem to be missing is that if this fool had kept his mouth shut instead of pulling a Duck Dynasty, nobody would be talking about minorities and the welfare state at all.

I wasn't attempting to agree or disagree with merits of what he said. I was simply pointing out that he stupidly opened his mouth when given the opportunity to pontificate for the cameras and has torpedoed his cause beyond all saving. Nobody's talking about land grabs anymore, now it's all about slavery and welfare, an irrelevant distraction.

And I was pointing out that the substance of what he said is exactly what you'll hear on a daily basis from mainstream Republican/tea party types. Oh, they've learned to couch their race baiting in more neutral language, but it's the exact same.

Are you drunk? That post was addressed to Castle.

So what is the actual subject? The fact that even Hannity's abandoned this dirtbag, and you and your BFF are still :aww:?

It's been about the BLM's unprecedented power and Harry Ried's power and corruption that fuels this whole thing. It's been about that the whole time.

Well how come everyone else on the planet seems to think it's about Cliven Bundy showing his hairy white ass on national television? Maybe you should write to Sean Hannity and tell him he's wrong.

The Federal cheerleaders wouldn't have an excuse to keep doing what they would have kept doing anyway. Which means that it's really totally irrelevant.

No, I'm not going to lie and say, "sorry to tell you", but that question isn't going away.

The old coots black bodyguard (must be an Uncle Tom of course) said he was not affected, because he knows what he was trying to convey. Picking cotton was a bad choice of words for doing work/manual labor in general. If he would have said build houses, sweep floors, work in a factory it would mean the same: that black people are now dependent on the endless government programs that encourage them to have more kids with no fathers in the homes, pretty much dooming them.
That black bodyguard is obviously conservative and will no doubt be hung in effigy (if he's lucky) by fellow blacks.

Don't shoot the messenger, just relaying what the Fox News Uncle Tom right wing paid shill/plant stated.

Exactly. What Bundy said was crudely worded, but it was essentially correct. But, y'know, to those for whom political correctness is more important than actually being factually correct about anything, it's the perfect opportunity to engage in character assassination.

    Here's the problem:

OldFella and I aren't, by any standards, the only ones to take note of the fact that the substance is what matters, not the style. Simply stated, that political correctness gear has been fuckin' stripped. It has no traction anymore. People are sick and fuckin' tired of that mamby-pamby shit, and we're just not fuckin' havin' it anymore.

If all you've got is appeals to emotion or appeals to outrage over what it sounded like he said, you've got Jack Shit, and you're gonna get reacted to like people who've got Jack Shit. The race card has been played so many times that's it's now played out.

I'm just noting your inability to take a solid stance on anything in any way with amusement. :diacanu:

 And once again you've made an assumption about me that's completely wrong. Apparently you've failed to notice that when it comes to cops being bullies and abusing their authority, I tend to come down against the cops.

Hell, I'm just curious if you'd find the Fed in the wrong for slaughtering unarmed people whether they were there of their own free will or not, but apparently this is too difficult a scenario for you. :diacanu:
