Somewhat related note: is anyone else still masking at this point? I wear N95 grade cloth/composite masks as I have to wear them for 10-12 hours a day when I'm running the shop.
On an average day where I interact with about 1,000 people, maybe 1 will be wearing a mask.

Masks don't work. Except that this year was the first time I caught COVID after over three years of masking up indoors in public. Halfway through the year I returned to work from parental leave, and masks were no longer required. Guess what I caught soon thereafter? COVID.

I also managed to get RSV with COVID and wound up in the hospital, along with my baby.

It is almost like this person who supposedly went to college has never taken a college level science course where ethics of research was explained. I would figure something like that would be presented to a history major.

In the case of Federal Petunia it is most certainly both.

I wear them to medical clinics, hospitals, etc. out of respect for the healthcare workers. But other than that, masks are pretty rare these days. I'll see the odd person at the grocery store wearing one.

I do wish masks had become a "thing" here, like in some Asian countries. People who are sick should stay the fuck home or wear a mask if staying home isn't an option.

The mask is not for the healthy person so much as it should be for the sick person. However, it would be good for people who feel healthy during a pandemic to wear one as you might be contagious while you feel ok.

Masks aren't very useful for people with beards, either. But wearing it anyway was accepted as compliance. Shows you where people's heads are at. Obedience with a facade of utility.

A mask will catch these particles within the fibers due to the way water sticks to substances and the proteins will keep the particles stuck to the fibers. This prevents the particles from becoming airborn and resting on surfaces. The mask would also direct these particles back towards your clothing and skin rather than out into the atmosphere. The proteins and viral molecules are suspended within the air, but much larger than oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide molecules. It is like dragging a net through water full of debris.

The mask is not a filter for things coming in, rather it stops things going out.

This has been explained over and over. The reality is that you fuckers are so selfish that if they told you that the mask was to protect others from the crap you are spewing, you would not wear them. So they lied and tried to say it was saving you because you are narcissistic and sadistic. You enjoy the idea of your crap getting into people as a sort of rape fantasy where you penetrate others. They knew that if they told you a mask would stop your germs from reaching others you would hate them even more because you are vile evil assholes.

Deliberately missing the point. The air flow goes right around the mask. It did not protect me, nor did it protect anyone FROM me. It accomplished NOTHING. It is 100% a superficial display of compliance to appease wannabe petty dictators to were enjoying their first taste of power over others.

Covid was created and released by the Jesuits in order to test the viability of engineered viruses as weapons. The US failed big time.
