The short answer is yes. They are both theropods.

T-Rex is also closer chronologically to a chicken than to stegosaurus.

I remember the days when you couldn't keep up with Red Room threads, there were so many postings going on. Now, sometimes 30 minutes or more lapse between posts.

I don't blame Ancgulflowtex as the decline started prior to their hostile takeover.

It began when I left.

I should have been more clear, for the sake of completeness. Both chickens and T. rex are theropods, which means they derived from a common ancestor, but doesn't mean the relationship is necessarily super close. The cladogram doesn't really show the degree of relationship at a measurable scale; that is, you couldn't compare the sauropod/prosauropod relationship against the theropod/bird relationship.

See, this is what I love about the Red Room. A thread can start out with Stupid and evolve into a detailed and informative discussion of dinosaurs.
