    ...compared to landing Voyager, maybe?

although the CGI tweaks, like the rustling foliage in the foreground, help keep it from being the train crash in Silver Streak.

The editing on that sequence is shit. You have characters thrown to the deck, apparently unconscious, in one shot, in the next shot, they're sitting upright in a seat. WTF?

Also, the perspective keeps changing and not in a good way. The size and scale of the saucer clearly changes from shot to shot.

Good special effects, for 1976. :techman:

    (Also: that's not Chicago!)

This is a shittily edited clip from a video talking about how they did the Genesis effects. Don't know why they cut a hunk out of the middle of it, but it's worth watching as I don't know of any other source that has the same details this does.

Okay, this is probably the weakest of the reimagined trailers that I've seen, and yet, it still has some good elements, and it gives me some ideas for a better trailer.

Like, when you see the crew of the Enterprise dying during the Kobayashi Maru test, having Khan in voice-over saying, "I've hurt you, and I wish to go on hurting you." Or when you see the Klingons firing their weapons, you hear Kirk say, "We have a problem."

Done right, you could give folks the impression that Khan has hooked up with the Klingons and that they're going to wipe out the Federation.
