In general it is. But there are situations where it is actually the moral thing to do as in preventing a larger immoral act from taking place. For example, telling the Nazis, "No, I haven't seen the Frank family in months" is a far more moral act than saying "Yes, they're in the attic" though the former is a lie and the latter is the truth.
Humans are animals. All you're saying is "people with the sexual morals of people". Stop spouting nonsense.
He slapped his wife once. Since he did not do it again, I assume he regretted it. Since he is not divorced, I assume they worked it out. I haven't read the thread, so you will have to point out those other things to me. At face value, they are bad.
Beating your wife is a big deal and a crime. Slapping her once years ago, something that she herself blew off an hour later is not a big deal. I simply use the rules as they are written to silence people with different opinions. The same rules that I myself am bound to follow. If other people have so little self control that they can't help getting warnings and bans, then that is their fault and not mine. I feel no guilt for exploiting other peoples lack of control any more than as a defensive coordinator I feel guilt for sending my meanest, toughest guys to bust through and offensive line against the smallest, weakest kid there. Lying for simple self interest is morally wrong. Lying to protect others or your nation and your people in general is not necessarily.
If you honestly believe that your state or nation is going down the tubes and that only you can prevent that, then obviously the moral choice is to do what is necessary.
You'd better get after it then, time's a wastin'. Somewhere out there is a school board or city council seat calling your name.
You're right. And I can point to three major mistakes I made in the last 7 years that have cost me (and the U.S.) years of time. But I think I finally have a bead on it and that if my timing is right that I can make a real positive difference in the future.
So what you are saying is that you being elected to office despite lying would be a moral good because you would intend to do great things. But what if the people who voted for you do not feel the same way? After all, election to public office is not just in your interest, it is in their's as well. Do their judgements not matter? Would it not constitute you deciding for them what is best for them rather than allowing them their own determinations?
Solipsism, masochism, solipsism, masochism, in an endless yin-yang loop; Christopher Hitchens had this pathology nailed...
They're the same GODDAMN thing you idiot! It's their fault, but it doesn't make you less of an evil sociopath for doing it. 'cause you're a sociopath. So you lie to protect the country? I kinda doubt it.
and if he denies it he puts himself in a dishonesty box - either he's lying when he denies it or he was lying when he wrote it. either way - BAM!
10 to 1 says someone here - probably Black Dove - is doing so even as we speak and praying for the day you test him on it.
Well, ya got all the honesty of a politician. Plus the hypocrisy - or obliviousness - to profess to be the candidate of "morals" while lying through your teeth. In fact, while I'm on the subject, please explain to the class how the Biblical prohibitions against per-marital sex are to be strictly adhered to, by blatantly lying for personal gain is really no big deal.
You know what? I know you're a good guy. You're a better person than anyone here would dare to believe, but sometimes this game of yours makes me want to choke you.
Biased? Hardly. You posted that people in the Red Room in this thread who disagrees with you are bastards, dickheads and other lovely remarks. You specifically mentioned "the idiot ghost hunter" as if it isn't obvious who that is. You were trolling and you were hoping for responses in the Blue Room where you could do that thing you so love to do... Your diary is not labelled "Red Room Rules" which means you can not troll and flame any more than anyone else can.
Black Dove won't bother. Nor will anyone else. Because I'm being smugly dismissed. Though I'm confident there will come a day when someone that posts on these boards will desperately wish they had pushed the button "Copy" or "Save". .........
Too bad. Obviously a flaw in the rules. If you can't vent in your own Diary thread then where can you vent at.
