Homosexuals and bisexuals will be basically extinct within a century anyway and this debate will be pointless anyway.
They've been around for the whole history of humanity, what's going to change in 100 years? Another Jesus deadline that'll come and go?
How? Forced sexual preference reassignment? Locked away as soon as any homosexual or bisexual tendencies are exhibited? Forced to attend pray the gay away camps? Homosexuality and bisexuality has been around since man has existed... and if you don't believe that, the bible shows homosexuality has existed for at least 2,000 years or so. What is going to end it in less than 100 years?
Oh, feel free to enlighten me, Dayton. If faith gets out of basic debate rules, not because of "because I said so", or not because of pixie dust, then give me the real argument. Or fail to, and dig your hole to China deeper.
And who are you to declare the exceptions? How many times have you responded to the posts of others by simply saying "prove it"?
Iran claims to have no gay men because it forces them to have sex changes. Maybe Dayton has a similar plan. After all, in the homophobia thread he said he wanted America to move more towards a religious theocracy.
Genetic testing and abortion. Doesn't most everyone here believe that there is an underlying genetic reason for a persons sexual orientation? Doesn't most everyone here believe in the freedom to have an abortion? I guarantee that the majority of pregnant women do not envision themselves having a baby that grows up to be a homosexual. So there inevitably will be a huge numbers of babies aborted once their genetic tendency toward homosexuality is discovered.
Fetuses have been aborted for thousands of years. As for the underlying cause of homosexuality, one has to consider it something that needs fixed, and we are rapidly moving away from that mindset. Being gay is perfectly acceptable by much of the population. There's nothing wrong with these people. They don't need "fixed." Sorry, @Dayton3, your dream of eradicating all homosexuals in a hundred years will die on the vine.
I don't dream of it as I'm very much against abortion. But it is going to happen. The "acceptance" of homosexuality that you think is prevalent is largely a myth.
Meanwhile, in an alternate timeline, Dayton's ancestor kills Alan Turing, erases the internet, and Dayton is left writing hate leaflets with a typwriter. Neither version of Dayton gets the irony.
So you're saying homosexuality isn't a choice, but determined by someone's genetic makeup. You've been claiming for years that it is a choice, and unnatural. If it is genetic, then wouldn't it be natural, possible part of evolution? And since we are created by God, then he should have known that would happen, and is punishing those who are homosexual for something he himself created? Genetics aren't a choice, they control who you are, what you are, how you behave, so therefore homosexuality is something created by God. And parents aren't going to abort a fetus if it tests "gay", they'll still love and care for the child. And isn't abortion also a sin? So abort a fetus for being gay, sinner. Let it love, it's a sinner. What kind of fucked up God would create such a world or scenario?
Wrong. Homosexuality has become more and more accepted. Younger and newer generations are more accepting than older ones. Younger and newer generations are more than two times as accepting. The number of Christians accepting homosexuality has also increased. And the number of parents who say finding other child is gay wouldn't upset them has grown as well, so once again you are wrong.
No, most informed people do not. Yes, but most of the people bothered by the idea of a gay child are against abortion. I guarantee that more and more parents could care less about an issue that doesn't affect the baby's ability to thrive. You are living in the past, cave man.
No. I believe homosexuality is a choice. But most people here (including you) believe otherwise don't you?
Driven by favorable media. And if something can be driven by the media in one direction. It can be driven in the other direction.
If everything's media brainwashing, then there's no objective reality, and you admit to being a post-modernist, and have no grounds for planting your feet on the Bible for your baseline. This is so easy, I'm almost ashamed of myself. Almost.
I never said that. I said "most everyone here". As I told Ed. I believe it is a choice. Pathetic that you clowns can't argue without deliberately misstating what I've posted. That speaks volumes about so many of you here.
So if it's a choice, then genetic testing would have nothing to do with it. And the child will still be born, and still be homosexual. So they will not aborted, and the numbers will not be reduced. But you said it is genetic, and they will be aborted. But then you're contradicting yourself. So which is it? Aborted or something else after they are born?
