I'm thinking about doing a fresh start and deleting all the names on my ignore list (which is only VisonCastle and his AEs) but before I do it I wanted to know what the policies of other posters are on this topic. Do you have a one and done policy or do you periodically give folks a second chance? I'm like to think I give second chances especially since if someone's posting style hasn't improved I can always put them on ignore again.

    Comments?

I usually put people on ignore if they've been spamming up a thread with tiresome crap for like, a week or so.

I've got a shitload on my list now, and they're not getting off it.

BUT, I usually give in, and click open, and respond to individual posts anyway.
    So, it barely matters.

Although, skimming past Ron Paul and Volpone posts is a pleasure.

I used to agree, but some people are just. So. Fucking. BORING.

Had to be done for my sanity.

That used to be the general rule around here, until TKO made Ignore a fashion statement.

As for me, I've discovered this wonderful labor-saving device. It's called a scroll wheel.

Like I sad, the whole time I've been here I've only used it for one poster.

There's a small core that stays on the list more-or-less forever--apostle, Volpone, Sokar, Tasvir, Fleshlight--and other people who make their way onto the list after their tiresome idiocy or just because I'm in a bit of a foul mood. Non-core list members regularly get pruned off the list if they're active. I make liberal use of the "View Post" button and I browse mostly through new-posts searches, so don't miss much if anything of significance.

The failure to use the ignore list is mostly silly macho posturing in an effort to make up for having a really small penis.

I've two people on ignore - Captain J and John Castle. To earn such an honour a poster must both be obnoxiously disagreable and very noisy about it.

Don't use ignore. Even tards say something funny or I agree with once in a while.

Never did understand why people can't use a scroll wheel.

That's exactly the reason Visionrazor is on my ignore list. I got tired of having to scroll through five posts in a row filled with various bold and italics. My finger cramped up whenever he entered a thread.

There are already lots of people not using ignore. In the rare case when the tards say something amusing, everyone ignoring them usually finds out easily enough through quotes and responses.

As for using the scroll-wheel, that's just an inefficient ignore list unless you're actually distracted into reading the posts, in which case it is no substitute. Better to use the ignore list.

I don't use the ignore function, it exists for the mentally weak. I'm a Texas large, in case you're wondering Liet. I don't think most people around here have a lot of interest in other posters' dick sizes, but there you go.

I used the ignore function on Zodiac because he was spamming up the board with his nazi shit. Otherwise, anyone who goes on ignore is usually only on there for a day or so, due to spamming up threads.

Do they ever contribute to the discussion?

    Are they a douchenoozle?

If the answers are no to the former and yes to the later, then the person goes on ignore.

People miss and repost things being posted in the middle of ongoing threads all the time even without ignore. The wordforge search function sucks balls.

I've always thought that I would end up on a lot of peoples ignore list at the various forums I've posted on.

Seems with me they often go straight to banning.

According to this, my style tends to be more masculine than feminine. Maybe it's because I say "I think" instead of "I feel."
