As some of you may recall (there's a thread about this in the Shelter releases), when we changed forum software, the opt-in for access feature of the Blue Room broke. At the time, we didn't have an evident quick fix, so we settled on keeping it hidden to non-registered users, but otherwise it became visible to everybody here, whether or not they had previously requested access. That's where things stayed for a time, but some recent suggestions from users brought the question up again. @John looked at things, experimented a bit, and we are now able to make it an opt-in space again. This change will happen soon, and unfortunately, we do not have a list of former Blue Room members. We've created a new list that includes most active users of the room, but if you are mostly a lurker, you might not be on the list. Go to this thread in the Help Desk to review the list. If you aren't on it and want to be, just post your request in that thread.
The add-on to do something similar doesn't work well with our version at this time. This is a (hopefully) temporary work around.
Right, which is something we haven't been able to replicate. This a work around designed to achieve a similar result, balancing privacy concerns with accessibility. Also, this makes it easier to prevent the next Ted from gaining access by simply checking a box (though your suggestion that we add him in the other thread was noted).
And that is the Main crux of the problem! Because of that, anyone can access it. It is supposed to be PRIVATE!
