Why bother having forum rules?

As has been pointed out, why should this board bother having rules? I mean, it's not like you enforce them or anything, unless it's against someone you obviously don't like. Or is that the reason? So why not just come right out and state in the forum rules that they're going to be selectively enforced?

I agree, and it was funny how Gul decided to lock that thread when their are daily rules violations by El Chup. I don't want to be accused of abusing the report feature so I was just going to catalogue them there so everyone could see how the rules are only selectively enforced.

Please tell me how finding "Kentucky Fried Tuna" and "fish sperm chowder" as sounding rather bizarre is somehow a rule violation.....

I did that a while back. I was only made aware of his continued trolling and rules violations when another poster brought it to my attention. Still, I believe it is worth while to point out how the rules are selectively enforced only against certain people.

Don't believe the pretense, tho. There are no real rules. Not for posting, not for moderating. Some moderators take shitty actions, just like some members make shitty posts.

As a side note banning is a misnomer. It's impossible to ban someone from a forum. A 'ban' just means the account was deactivated. A person can always make another.

Recognize that the thread-starter is a basement-dwelling geek who's barely out of his teenage years, writes sub-par Star Trek fanfic, and has an unhealthy gun fetish.
