Guiliani went even further about Cohen's dad-in-law on FOX, saying he's Ukrainian and linked to their organized crime.

The real reason Cohen has backed out:

    1. It finally dawned on the idiot that he would be under oath, again, in front of Congress.
    2. He'd have to tell the truth because Mueller and his team would be watching.
    3. He'd have to tell the truth because SDNY would be watching.
    4. He'd have to tell the truth because Trump and his team would be watching.
    5. Lying on anything would open him to charges again. He's already plead guilty to lying to Congress once.
    6. If he says anything new it's either a lie or that means he withheld info from Mueller and SDNY. They would drop a fucking hammer the size of NYC on his head in response if he said something new, it was important, and it was the truth.
    7. It's finally dawned on him that the Democrats don't give two fucks about him and are just using him. They don't give a fuck how long he spends in prison so long as they can use him to bash Trump.

Actually, there were a number of reporting mistakes in the coverage of Watergate as the full extent of the Nixon administration's criminality was being uncovered.

Mistakes are to be expected. Claims - like this most recent one - that are not true and are being denied by the investigation team that is dead set on bringing this President down are not simply a mistake, though.

"dead set" doesn't include making a public statement against the recent claim. That kinda goes against your narrative of bringing the president down.

No. It does show however that the Mueller investigation is interested in truth.

Mueller's spokesman just said some of the assertions were not factually supported by evidence the special counsel has not that all of it was false. Worse, he didn't detail what was true and what was not implying parts of it, maybe even the majority of it, were true.

It is clearly not a vindication of Trump though it does cast Buzzfeed in a not so flattering light.

Well, the WaPo also says that with that statement the "central theses" of this story was denied by the Mueller investigation.

False testimony and witness tampering are the upshot, for anyone not wishing to read the whole thing.

"My first reaction is real simple: this has nothing to do with the President, and certainly nothing to do with the White House."
    - Sarah Sanders, on the Roger Stone arrest.

Here's a few other quotes for the remaining traitors (i.e., Trump supporters) on this board:

“A man is known by the company he keeps.”
    - Aesop

“A mirror reflects a man’s face, but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses.”
    - Colin Powell

You quote Colin Powell? The man who went to the UN and lied in front of the security council to get the US into the Iraq war.

And why was a SWAT team used to arrest him?

Whether one likes him or not the only thing he is being charged for is a process crime. He lied.

Is that worthy of a SWAT team in full gear showing up unannounced at 5 AM at his house?

He has a lawyer. Call his lawyer up and tell him to bring the client in for processing.

And no he's not a flight risk.

He repeated the lies told to him by the US Security Agencies. He has repeatedly stated he regrets that speech, but he trusted that what was said was accurate.

The agents who made the arrest aren't getting paid. So my guess would be spite.

Edit: apparently the CNN reporter went there on a hunch based on documents that were filed yesterday and the grand jury meeting yesterday. No claims that CNN was tipped off by the FBI. See "How CNN got the exclusive video of Stone's arrest today": https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/roger-stone-mueller-indictment/index.html

I don't know why you'd lie about the time of day this happened. Every report is stating this arrest happened shortly after 6 a.m.

WOW! YOU CAUGHT ME!! Even though I said 6 am a few posts before the one you quoted I decided to change it to 5 am to make it sound even worse. I didn't just make a mistake. Nope I was intentionally lying and you caught it.

You should work for Mueller. You're so smart. :finger:

And as someone who lives a couple miles from Ft. Lauderdale and was up this morning at 6 am I can tell you it was as dark at 6 am as it was at 5 am.
