15 rounds + 1 in the chamber from what I’ve read. Not sure what she was using exactly. She let that dirtbag have it all. She gets shot at, keeps her calm on the radio while running back to the other side of the car, and just unloaded on him.
That stop at night in the middle of nowhere is one of the most dangerous things cops have to do. Good on the deputy!
this is what the word forge folks who think we should do like the UK and only have "specialized" police units who carry guns (or ready access to guns) will never understand. In the US every situation might entail gunplay - call us savages all you want, but cops should have the right to go home alive at the end of their shift. If Mayberry North Carolina ever existed it went away a long time ago!
why are you sad? That a dangerous criminal grabbed the bull and got the horns? Fuck him. BTW for all the fucking retards that say "one shot is all you need if you aim right!" would you (as a cop or anyone else trying to stay alive when people are trying to kill you) bet your life on "one round"? If you would, Darwin you!
Can't remember how law enforcement are trained in the U.S., but up here in Canuckistan if there is a lethal threat, they are trained to keep firing until it's "neutralized".
Yep! Same here for law enforcement, armed security & military too. And anyone still holding a weapon and drawing breath is definitely not "neutralized" quite yet.
Must have been one of those undocumented doctors / teachers that never had a chance to be productive thanks to ICE.
All the more reason to use the methods of disarming the populace which have been shown to work, make the lives of these officers that little bit safer.
I'm glad the officer is safe. I would have rather them both lived. I just can't celebrate someone's death, even if I thought they deserved what happened to them. I get the notion that this person shouldn't have fired at a deputy, that was a bad idea. I just don't get the lulz, I guess.
disarming the populace which has been shown to work in some countries. You just don't get the fact that the type of guys who would shoot it out with the cops will never be disarmed. Thus since your fantasy will never come to fruition on this side of the pond, I guess the cops over here will still have to shoot people who shoot at them. It's not "rocket science" yet somehow you to continue to struggle with the concept of reality.
Why is it the kind of guys who do this seemingly will never be disarmed in the US, but are quite readily disarmed elsewhere? Are criminals in the US different to criminals elsewhere? Clue: they aren't. The difference is in the political position the gun lobby enjoys there, a position from which they are selling a demonstratable fantasy. That's what you aren't getting, the US is in no way shape or form a special case. Take bullets off the market and the risk of gun crime will steadily decrease, it's been shown to work and that's the reality.
Personally I'm a kid at heart - I just love a storybook ending! This video definitely had that. Would like to know this guy is alive and driving around your neighborhood? How about living in your neighborhood? How about a whole city full of guys like him? If he tried to kill a cop who knows what other crimes he's capable of? Fuck him and the horse he rode in on - one less dangerous shit-bag to deal with IMHO. Eat well worms, here comes another meal of tasty criminal in a few days.
whatever helps you sleep at night kiddo! Yes gun crime in general might decrease. But the criminals that do indeed need guns (major drug dealers, human traffickers, car jackers, domestic terrorists, etc) will continue to use them, and those gun crimes that are committed will be even more deadly because only the most dangerous & determined criminals will have them! In other words maybe the drunken lout in the hood (who can't afford ammo or a gun) might use a baseball bat on his neighbor instead of shooting him - a gun crime was prevented, praise the liberals! The next minute a car full of previously convicted felon gangsters (with stolen guns they've had for years before the confiscation despite laws against felons owning guns) shoot up the same neighborhood and kill a child sleeping in their bed. Oops-a-daisy! Well you can't win em' all I guess, right? I hope you aren't drug tested because you are definitely smoking something.
Not even him, as many horrible things as he did, and as much blood on his hands that he had. Nothing occurs in a vacuum. Unless they're just mentally unstable (which is a whole other can of worms), people don't just wake up one morning and do evil.
No they don't, but figuring out how they went wrong, and working to correct that could prevent two future wrongs.
no they don't "do evil" because there's no such thing as evil. But people's behavior may lead to my premature demise (as if traffic isn't dangerous enough in my neighborhood) and if they eat a bullet (while demonstrating their violent capabilities) that increases my (or a family member) chance of survival, and every little bit helps, so their death is indeed cause for celebration.
I don't submit to that kind of binary, simplistic thinking. That's the kind of thing that keeps wars going endlessly around the globe, because people can't stop and put things into context, they can't see the connections from person to person to person that causes this shit to happen. It's like you can't even conceive of the notion that humans aren't black and white.
You can have a discussion about whether or not mankind is inherently good, inherently evil, or inherently neither. But, one thing this incident shows is irrefutable proof that mankind is inherently stupid. Despite some fictional stereotypes, I've never met a criminal that thinks they'll get caught and suffer punishment for their actions. They all, without exception, think they are smarter, faster, better than everyone else. So, when you run across someone like that, keep an eye on them.
