I know less than 50% of you have a passport anyway and rarely leave your own state, but having spent last seven days in the UK and parts of Europe, my anecdotal polling has revealed that that part of the world really fucking hates you all right now. I mean, way more than usual.

There is a high probability that any meal or drink you order in a restaurant will have snot, shit, or piss in it.

I know it's not fair to paint all Americans with such a broad brush, but until the majority of you decide to rise up and do something about the moron who was elected by less than 33% of the country's population, you're all going to be international pariahs.

I was going to suggest that no one outside of the US visits the US for a while. This fucking country will arrest you, torture you, and send you god knows where even if you're here legally, and I don't just mean the obvious brown folks who look vaguely "foreign." Several German green card holders have found this out, as well.

Stay away if you can until we can get this shit fixed. It's not safe for anyone right now.

I assume somebody is selling "Yes I'm American, no I didn't vote for him" buttons that we can buy.

Failing that, there's always the option of pretending to be Canadian.

I can't speak for the rest of the world, but Canadians are getting really sick of those Americans, especially when they expect to be congratulated.

"I didn't vote for the atrocities, I'm just sitting back and letting them continue" isn't the brag they think it is.

Were just going to have to sit here and let this all play out. My suggestion is let the MAGAs get screwed enough that they turn on him and let them fight it out amongst themselves. We will have to pick up the pieces afterwards like always.

As someone who is trans and disabled, I am against this idea because we'll be the "all play out" part of this catastrophe. It would be like saying "we'll step in to fight the battle once wave after wave of our men are killed and they get tired."

Last year we saw a large # of international hikers, since the prior years were closed from Covid, the international #'s kept climbing every year. I think this year will be minimal.

I agree. I'm hoping people outside the US see these warnings (obviously I'm not the only one giving them) and heed them. The US is unsafe if you don't fall into the criteria of being a wealthy natural born US citizen of some power and influence. The US is engaging in kidnapping, human trafficking, and torture, and human rights authorities can't keep track of where they're being sent or detained. Stay out, folks, it's not safe.

Yep. I try to be upbeat and optimistic on social media, but I also intersperse it with what's going on, and I do that because this affects so many of us, we need to be aware of what is happening, and since I can get very loud, I get very loud to let people know things are not normal and they are not okay.

My family is going to specifically request asylum next door to you.

This is why l will be traveling on a Spanish passport, thank you very much.
Gotta actual brush up on my Spanish, though. Right now I can only say variations of "Fuck your whore of a mother". The drawback of learning my conversational Spanish from the lawn crews.

Apparently, the Spanish view the various dialects of the language spoken in the Americas the way we view a Southern accent that shows someone's family tree resembles a telephone pole.

Someone who looked at the military foreign policy of post-9/11 America and went fuck yeah I wanna get in on supporting that probably shouldn't be so smug about not being part of the problem.

Thankfully, I can speak French fluently. I'll just pretend I'm Canadian and hope I don't need to present my passport.

I assume everyone knew me well enough to know that was a joke and believe me, if any of the 50 job applications I put in between '08 and 2010 came through for me to leave the job I had, a $1600 windfall to pay back my local college had come through, any9ne in my life had helped me get a driver's license before I had to shell out $1000 myself to get it done at 27 to get jobs outside of my city, my stepdad wasn't financially abusive to where I was paying 70 percent of the utilities besides rent because my mom and brother couldn't even GET jobs between 06 and 2014 or any combination of those things, I'd have never even considered the military.

I think...actually, I know you know me well enough to know that I'm not one of those types that bleats about my service but the reality is most of us who join had no other options. You and others can blame us for participating and that's fair, but I'm certainly not going to feel guilty for choosing not to starve.

I'm not here to judge, military empires do a great job of using economic anxiety to get people to serve, and vote for candidates who promise to shake things up.

I voted Harris, my kids voted Harris, and even my pretty-far-right sister and brother-in-law voted for Harris (though they said they held their nose to do it).

But I speak French fluently, I'm one-quarter Canadian, and pretty close to full French at heart. I get along fairly well in Europe, even though I'm a white male. Most of the people I know here in France detest Trump, and when they find out I agree with them, they have no problem with the fact that I'm (sort of...) American.
