If that was the case, she wouldn't kick so much ass at clean vocals. There's a bunch of reaction videos on YouTube and they're hilarious. Everyone's all "oh wow, she's got a really great voice." Then it hits the 1:11 mark and they're all "holy shit what just happened is that really her?" I was already somewhat familiar with this band before I heard this song, and I missed out. Still, she's one hell of a talented vocalist.
Dr. Krieg - I had most of The Jam albums back in the day! Going Underground is their best song IMHO. Like to hear it? Here it goes!
BEST ROCK SONG OF THE 90'S Yes, the best...not one of the best but THE BEST of that decade. Why wasn't this the biggest hit of their career? You tell me.
so I'm in the neighborhood Walmart on the way home, and they always have their music playing. Most of the time it's a mix of non-offensive pleasant pop tinged rock or bro-country or whatnot that might appeal to anyone and everyone. Nothing that would distract from your shopping experience or even get your attention most of the time. But then.....holy shit! This song came on and nearly everyone over 50 responded! People stopped pushing their carts for a couple of seconds or hummed along and smiled and just enjoyed the experience of hearing a song that makes you say "DAMN! They don't make music like that anymore!" The harmony...the melody...that bass line....the lyrics..the pure emotional power in the song....incredible! Anywho here it is: TURN IT UP!
The Four Tops. Their best songs are just so good. A fun thing to do if you're confident in your oneness with the Force: stroll the CD collection at Goodwill or your local flea market, and (in addition to looking for anything you want but don't have yet) try letting your eye catch sight of a CD or two that just have the "vibe" of being something you would like. Buy them, or check them out online if you're a cheapskate or don't have the space at home, and see if you were right. You can find some gems that way you would never have found otherwise. HA! I can't believe I haven't heard this song in over THIRTY FIVE YEARS but the melody and chorus came right back to me after a minute or two. Great song - not a big hit in America if I remember right but it should have been! A lot of people have never even heard of her. Silly video and poor quality but the audio is fine. Really unique lyrics I must say. Enjoy!
I have this on my ipod as part of my cardio workout mix - it really gets and keeps your energy up in the early morning!
On that Cyrkle picture - guy in the upper left looks like a full-on "it puts the lotion in the basket!" serial killer. Not judging!
Tex Beneke kickin' it old school with Major Glen Miller leading the band! Tell me this music doesn't make you want to hop in a B-17 and bomb a German ball-bearing factory! Okay, preaching to the choir here but you get the idea!
Normally not a country fan, but I saw this video on a news channel today so I checked it out further. Guy is a Marine vet so he's not fakin' the funk so to speak. Enjoy!
Rawhide - YouTube I don't know how or why this song popped into my head - I hadn't heard it in years - but I had to hear it again, and it's as good as I remembered it to be! This is not the version with the cracking whips and shouting at cows and stuff, but it's still great,
the coolest saxophone player ever - YouTube Baritone sax for the win! Drummer DOES NOT need "more cowbell" he has that covered pretty well. Check out 1:10 or so into the video - cutting a rug indeed!
"Kentucky Rain"- Elvis Presley - YouTube CCR Run Through the Jungle - Vietnam footage - YouTube army aviation for your ass! Side note I HATE those triangular shaped M16A1 hand guards - amiright?
