    I'm not clear on what defines boxer-briefs. I have some underwear that is shaped like a boxer but made of more brief-like material. Is that the same thing?

    Boxer-briefs are shaped more like boxers (they come down the thigh a bit), but have a pouch for the boys, more like briefs do, to provide support.

    Boxer briefs have all the support of briefs without any of the chafing that can occur if you do any kind of physical work.

    That's why I switched several years ago.
