For Sandman season 2, Destiny, Delirium, and "The Prodigal" are casted. Really? They're making a mystery of "The Prodigal"? It's Destruction. Destiny, Delirium, Destruction. Delirium...had to grow on me. She's what she sounds like. The goddess/elemental of acid trips and crazy people. Turns out drugged/crazy people are indeed tapping into something, and Delirium puts the messages in there. Anyway, her personality is ...Tererun-esque. She's a lot.
In the comic books, the Endless referred to Destruction only as "the Prodigal" for at least the initial references. So I don't have a problem with the Netflix version following that precedent.
I don't think we ever saw Destiny's actual face in the comic? At least the upper part was always hidden by the hood, I thought.
People are gonna cry, but I thought his take on Watchmen rivaled Alan Moore. On his best day, his got genuine talent. Let's hope he's bringing that A-game here.
I suppose they had to settle on one look for the character poster, but if Delirium has a consistent look from moment to moment and scene to scene and episode to episode that'll be a huge disappointment.
The first episode of The Penguin was pretty good. I don't think the kid was necessary, but whatever. I like the actress who plays Sophia Falcone.
Yeah I got the feeling it would've been better if the kid was older Still can't believe that's Colin Farrell under all that, he's really good as this character - he doesn't take a second off, just kills it every time he's onscreen Thought they got the mood right in terms of it being similar to The Batman (with the exception of the trip out to the suburbs to the Falcone's house), which was great. Looking forward to seeing where this goes

One interesting thing that a YT guy said that when Penguin and the kid are watching the sunset, that’s basically like we survived the night without getting caught by the Batman. I hadn’t thought about that.
I didn’t expect him to kill victor, but when I saw them talking at the end, I was thinking it was going to happen. I liked how they showed the Bat signal as he tells his mom that there’s nobody to stand in his way. I’m guessing he’s going to be in The Batman 2. I’m so tired of the trend of making bad guys sympathetic.
Of course not, Joker needs interaction with Batman to be compelling. Want a bat-character for their own show? Harvey Dent (might overlap a bit with Penguin, but the cop side instead of the mob side has stories)
I don't think the show was very kind to the Penguin, he is an actual monster. Killed his brothers, killed and betrayed just about everyone in the crime world, gave his mom a stroke and then killed poor Vic. This guy is a full blown evil asshole Great show though, I definitely enjoyed it
They started off making him a somewhat sympathetic character then slowly unraveled until the very end. He also has a unhealthy relationship with his mother.
Beyond both being drugs, not really. Then you should have enjoyed this series because unless you are an amoral psychopath like Oz, you should not find someone who backstabbed pretty much everyone, who murdered someone who was 100 percent loyal, who allowed his brothers to die so he could get his mother all to himself, whose mother absolutely hates him, who brags to someone about having roasted the person's wife and son alive sympathetic in the least. I'm not sure what one could find sympathetic about him, beyond maybe his disability and that he gets a little bullied by the other gangsters. But pretty much everything he does and says is evil. To contrast with antiheroes like Tony Soprano or Vic Mackey or whatever, each of those guys has normal guy/good guy moments. Even Oz's love for his mother is twisted, and less about actual affection for her and more about wanting to show off. The fact that Oz was totally willing to let his mom lose a finger rather than admit what he did shows how self-centered he is. Oz literally loves no one and nothing beyond himself and the power he can acquire. And he will stop at nothing to do it. I am not seeing any connection between this and The Acolyte. I do wish the writing and the acting of The Acolyte was more on this level, but that is probably true of most series.
