So, i was in the States last week. Five nights in Vegas with the boys! Alongside the usual activities we went to the gun range and i shot a Glock, an AK and a FN P90 - both on full automatic, and then a 50 cal sniper rifle. Let me just say from the start, fuck me what a rush, particularly full auto. Iv shot an AK a few years back in Nam but it was single shots. With full auto we got to light up the room! The power and noise was unlike anything iv heard before.... until i had a go of the 50 Cal! Jesus Christ that is proper shit yourself material right there! Wev done the gun threads *1000. No point in rehashing. I'll just say that despite the fun factor, it doesnt change my mind. So headline - brit enjoyed shooting gunz, still thinks you guys are fucking insane Discuss......
Between us all i think we shot almost everything in the vault. I nearly went with the desert eagle pistol but the hot chick taking my money said my wrist would hurt for a week.
Not even. A Desert Eagle weighs as much as a small engine block; hard kickin' it ain't. My friend's little sister had no problem shooting mine when she was a teenager. I had some noobie friends try mine last year and they had no problems with recoil. Shoot the same cartridge out of one of the lightweight scandium-framed Smith&Wessons, though... different story.
Did you go to The Gun Store in Vegas? I go there every time I'm there, think I've also shot just about every gun they have as well. It' s a lot of fun
I just googled it, haven't been there yet. Will definitely check it out next time I'm there, thanks for the heads up!
They will pick you up and return you to your hotel, & they offer you free entry to the strippers next door
You know you're talking about firing a selection of guns that probably 99% of American citizens have never fired and never will.
I remember we discussed this a few years ago @Man Afraid of his Shoes , these guys wouldnt let me shoot the glock 'gangsta' (Sideways)
I know you said you went to a different range, but there used to be a cute woman with a pink Glock working at the Gun Store just off the strip. Can't remember her name but she looked like she could kick ass and chew bubble gum, all without chipping a nail.
that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. Nobody is putting a gun to your head forcing you to shoot one.
No, but that doesn't really help the situation does it? People are still doing an awful lot of killing.
I fired some weapons in the US and a machine gun in Vietnam and I get it. But even those experiences felt "unsafe" to some extent, just walking up and paying a few dollars.
Some people but not all people are doing the killing. If you know that you wouldn't be doing the killing if you had access to guns, then there would be no harm in you owning and using guns.
Things I've fired, most of them a million years ago in army cadets- FN C1A1 (funny story. I was actually shot with a blank from one of these, from about three feet away. great scar from the powder burns) Also called the C1 for some reason, he Stirling 9mm SMG .308 and .22 versions of the SMLE Anschultz .22 target rifle C6 gpmg
LOL-from what I understand, they were common as dirt for Commonwealth countries. Fairly basic design too... but I don't really know enough about gun engineering to comment. It was definitely a once in a life time experience for a 15 year old though. They were the basis of something a little more recognizable to Star Wars fans...
