So, I've carried a secret with me for years. Ordinarily, I'd never admit to this, but I was curious if there was anyone else out there with the same problem. With the exception of black basketweave duty leather, when I buy leather products I always buy two, a black one and a brown one. If I'm wearing brown shoes and a brown belt, I want a brown holster. If I'm wearing black shoes and a black belt, I want a black holster. I know it's stupid and petty, but it's just a hangup I have. It's like making sure your gig line is straight, always having a handkerchief, using a tie stay, or never buttoning the bottom button on a coat or vest.
Well, I don't carry a firearm, but I have brown shoes to go with my brown belts and black shoes to go with my black belts. I also try to coordinate brown shoes/belts with earthtone clothes and black shoes/belts with white, black, and primary color clothes.
It's either gonna be the tiny hands thing, or alcoholism.... *Clicks* Nope....huh...not what I was expecting. And I was there the day Shepherd came out as trans, so....
It's a manly style thing, one of the only ones I strictly adhere to. I'd never wear black shoes or boots with a brown belt, or vice versa.
I've got 6 regular ones. Running shoes Black leather Fryes (weekend/rock show wear) Brown leather Fryes(everyday wear) Oxblood leather Fryes (everyday wear) Johnston and Murphy black leather shoes (formal) Desert boots (camping and working outside) The brown and oxblood I wear on rotation. I get about 2.5-3 months on a set of soles with all the walking I do. I just leave a pair at the cobbler until time to switch.
Are you talking about those low, ankle-type boots they sell? I've been thinking about getting some of those since I don't work in the field very often (can't deal with leather soles while I'm working, no support at all).
No, all regular height. I actually I think the brown and black are 6" and the oxblood 8". I just really like their boots. First pair I bought were the oxbloods on Sep. 12, '07 (day after I got back from Iraq, had a date I'd lined up over the internet, unfortunately she turned out to be a lot of fun [and easy] so, here I am 10 years later, stuck with her...). Still going strong. Can't count how many resoles, and one rebuild, but good leather (taken care of) is good leather. Black leathers were that Xmas, and the browns are newbs, summer 14.
Yeah, those are low boots to me. I like the look of their stuff. I'm really liking that they sell harness boots. I had a great pair of those when I was a little kid, but after I outgrew them I never could get my mom to replace them for me.
I pretty much just have black leather things. The only things that aren't is the holster that came with the Tokarev, and the Russian and German belt, suspenders, and ammo pouch sets I have, which I have no problem wearing my black combat boots with.
Exactly. It has to match. It's as basic a style choice as wearing a solid colored tie with a pattern shirt and a pattern tie with a solid colored shirt. Philistines. Brown leather is the best leather, except when black leather is better. For instance, tomorrow I'm wearing khaki slacks, a solid white oxford cloth shirt (with a khaki and sky blue checkered tie), and a brown tweed waistcoat. A black belt and black shoes would look out of place with that. So, I'll be wearing a brown belt and brown shoes. But, on Tuesday I'll be wearing dark gray slacks, a solid light blue oxford cloth shirt (with burgundy, gray, and navy blue paisley tie), and a dark gray tweed waistcoat. A black belt and black shoes works well with that while brown would not. You can't open the book of my life and jump in the middle. Like woman, I am a mystery. You sweet summer child. I have two pair of house shoes.
Today I'm wearing a blue polo with gray slacks, so it's black shoes and belt. This ain't rocket science.
Its quite simple. Black shoes for work if paired with dark coloured suit and black belt. Brown shoes can be worn with suit to jazz it up, nice with deep navy suit. Need a brown belt when wearing brown shoes. When wearing jeans for a night out, never pair with black dress shoes. Dressed up to go out, nice jeans can be carried off very well with brown shoes, again, brown belt is required! Oh, and if anyone thinks they are being cool by wearing trousers that are too short, dress shoes but no socks, then they need kick in balls!
No no NO!! You never wear brown shoes with a blue suit. Black shoes or, if you're a pimp, white shoes.
You think you're making a joke. The colors of my rugs and furniture were heavily influenced by the fact that my wife favored orange tabby cats, and she picked colors to hide their shedding.
Sorry Lanz, your getting old.... https://m.imgur.com/gallery/X9WZM *No idea what all the other stuff is on that page below the suit. Lots of strange cat shit so you'll like it.
Wrong. Black. Shoes. Go. With. Anything. If you deny that, you end up buying more than one kind of shoes, and that way lies madness.
Not with blue jeans they dont unless you want to expose yourself as having no concept of acceptable taste. You can probably get away with black casual trainers (kicks/sneakers) but not black dress shoes.
