I don't really have a use for this (I don't live in a part of California where non-elites can get carry permits) but I didn't have a Sig in my collection, I didn't have a .380, and these looked like a lot of fun. Sig P238 HD w/night sights. Gotta say, it feels like quality. Can't wait to try it out. It's like a 1911 scaled down by a third. Trigger pull is a bit high, but it has a nice, clean break.
Ooooooh neat, I was looking at the 9mm version the other day, it's probably going to the next thing I get after my PS90 comes in.
I wasn't aware Sig made more than two guns. P220 or P229. Oh, wait, it must be in the testicle-lacking portion of the catalog.
Have you dropped it lately? BREAKING: TTAG Test Shows P320 Striker-Fired Pistols Are Not Drop-Safe http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/20...p320-striker-fired-pistols-are-not-drop-safe/ Yes. I know it's not the same gun but if the quality control on the P320 failed it's possible it failed on the P238.
1. I don't think the 320 issue is one of quality control; it looks like a design problem. It isn't like they had a bad batch that failed; apparently, they all do. 2. That said, the 320 has passed numerous standard drop tests; it's apparently one very specific drop that makes it fail. While it is something Sig should address, this failure mode may be a very, very unlikely occurrence. 3. I wish I could buy a Sig P320. But...California. 4. As you point out, the P238 is an entirely different design; I have no reason to worry about it.
I remember the one time I dropped my Glock. Man I was hopping around the room like crazy when it fell trying to stay out of the barrels way. Thank God for the drop safety. And yes to all you non-gun owning people on this board dropping guns happens. If you've dropped a hammer, knife, keys or any other tool yes it's possible to drop a gun.
I remember a really awful episode of Beverly Hills 90210 where the dumbass Scott character got killed by dropping a gun he was playing with. Of course, it was a Glock which is designed so that really can't happen. But that's okay. Scott really needed to be killed, anyway.
