The Israeli military has recovered the body of an Israeli hostage from a building near al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City, as soldiers continued to search the hospital complex after Wednesday’s early morning raid.

Yehudit Weiss, a 65-year-old woman, was abducted from the Be’eri kibbutz by Hamas militants during their attack on southern Israel on 7 October, in which at least 1,200 people were killed and more than 240 taken hostage. She had been undergoing cancer treatment.

“The body of Yehudit Weiss, who was abducted by the Hamas terrorist organisation, was extracted by IDF troops from a structure adjacent to the Shifa hospital in the Gaza Strip and was transferred to Israeli territory,” a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces said late on Thursday.

“In the structure in which Yehudit was located, military equipment including Kalashnikov rifles and RPGs were also found,” the spokesperson added.

Weiss’s husband, Shmulik, was killed during the Hamas attack.

The IDF also said it had uncovered a Hamas tunnel shaft and a vehicle with weapons at the Dar al-Shifa hospital complex.

“In the Shifa hospital, IDF troops found an operational tunnel shaft and a vehicle containing a large number of weapons,” the military said. It made public videos and photographs of the tunnel shaft and weapons, though no independent verification was possible.

I do not understand how people can say much different. Zionism replaces white people with jews who are god's chosen people. It is a jewish superior philosophy which is why many jews do not support it. It uses the Torah as proof that god gave the jews Isreal and it is theirs. Even Manifest destiny tried to bring some sort of argument about an evolved society having a responsibility to run the land for the lesser ones, and does not totally rely upon devine racism.

I wouldn't have much of a problem with zionism if the jewish faith made an effort to secure the land through the social contract of purchasing and keeping the land within the jewish community through financial means rather than laws which make it so no one but jews can buy Isreali land. zionism, like any other race or culture based superiority, is going to lead to the same things as Nazism, Islamic nationalism, and other groups that try to lay claim to land or power based upon their religion, culture, or physical characteristics.

Hamas and the palestinian hatred of Isreali jews is a direct result of the abuses of people created by the idea that the jew is god's chosen person and the rest of us are beneath them. Zionism is acting upon the belief that jews are superior because they are jews. It is one thing to believe that but abide by a social contract where all people have rights and respect in society, but to act upon those beliefs to harm and opress others breaks the social contracts of respect for the purpose of jewish superiority.
