I can remember my dad teaching my sister and I how 5o do the live long and prosper thing with our hands. It is sad but he lived a nice long life.
A very sad day. I never met him, yet he and the rest of the original cast have played such a gigantic role in my life. Thank you Mr. Nimoy, thank you.
It was bound to happen, but it's still sad. A page from my youth has been turned (original series, first run, first season -- I was still fairly young back then).
Spock was the hero of my youth. My first childhood memories were Spock, Kirk and Scotty. I watched TOS as a four years old, it was a holy ritual. My parents were not amused. They have been right. I am a disturbed individual today because of the salt monster. I was so frightened of it, I couldn't sleep three nights. Hell, I am STILL frightened. R.I.P. Nimoy
Nimoy and his cell phone. It's EXACTLY what you think, and not what you think. http://indefinitelywild.gizmodo.com/spock-and-the-motorola-startac-1688496340
I've said this elsewhere, but it still rings true for me. It feels like I've lost a favorite Uncle. Considering that a few months ago I did lose a favorite Uncle, the feeling is an interesting one. I mean, I've always loved Leonard Nimoy as a person, for his portrayal of Spock, and I'm an avid fan of his photography (I own several of his photography books), but I guess he had ingrained himself deeper than I initially thought, and it just really hurts that he's gone.
Patrick Stewart (@SirPatStew): It is with sadness that I heard of Leonard Nimoy's death. I was lucky to spend many happy, inspiring hours with him. He won't be forgotten.
