I really dislike the new design of the "Like" line beneath posts. It no longer shows who liked the post, reducing the informative and thus communicative power of Likes considerably.
That's because it was inactive as of 10 minutes ago. Now it's active. To see who liked what, just click on the word "list".
First off, thanks for the effort you put into this. Secondly, I agree with the Hun. Is is possible to have list all the users in the bar instead of having to click 'List'?
No, the nature of this system is so that it can have multiple categories of likes and dislikes, without crowding the user bar. Still, simply clicking on the list button will show everyone who clicked.
Oh, I see. You can only rate a post once, right, even if it's, say, agreeable and funny? (Not that that has ever happened, but still.)
Ok, I realize this is seemingly a tiny detail, but if you'll excuse the media designer in me -- can we replace the word "List" with something else? Something like: by...? Rated by...? Comments by... Because no-one will click on 'List', I'm afraid. Lists aren't sexy, unless you made them.
That's fine. For the moment, there are no negative ratings. Everything either lists as positive or neutral. Correct. You have to choose. Then again, saying agreeable or funny is both positive, and counts toward the user. I can look into that and see what my options are, even tinker a bit if I must.
By the by, the official thread is here: http://wordforge.net/index.php?threads/the-new-rating-system.105700/ I'd merge, but it goes by time stamp. I'll answer in both, but that one's the official thread.
I'd love to like what you did there, but I just can't decide if it's more informative or more useful. Would you accept a spellchecking charge as a compromise?
Kudos for leaving out the comma there; that's very cooperative. I'm glad we don't have a cooperation rating, otherwise we'd still be stuck.
I can't believe after all the crap we went through you idiots thought it was not only a good idea to bring back rep but you've expanded it.
I see no pips or anything similar, so there is no use for rep war or a popularity contest... The rating points are only visible in the profile. So what's the problem? Or do I miss something? I only post from my mobile, the layout may look different on other browsers. Anyway, still no rep coments...
Jan Jensen: Ratings: +942 / 0 It most certainly shows it. Nice big green bar as well. I wonder how long it would take to drop someone into Red?
Very pleased to see the new ratings implemented, and I note that you have switched off the neg rep capability for "dislike", so we won't have any of the pathetic rep wars shite.Or am I wrong on this? I have a feeling the "bad spelling" typo button will be something I'll need to be more conscious of.......
Hhmm, ok...? But this mini-profile John mentions in the other thread doesn't show up on my mobile browser (Chrome). So, no rep trouble for mobile users! The new bar works just fine however. The smilie list is still a pain in the ass, btw... Pehaps I should start using tapatalk anyway. Or reactivate my dusty laptop...
