DID article I mean, they've always had the LHDs like the Tarawa, but this one, they're dispensing completely with the capability to launch landing craft. And while it is allegedly an "escort" carrier, it is still too big for the Panama Canal and is larger than France's corresponding capital ships.
I dunno much about that. But I'd say the Marine version wouldn't be. It's set up for ST/OVL and Close Air Support. To do that you're gonna have make some trade-offs that make it a less than optimal dogfighter.
The rest of the world is just being silly, not surrendering the oceans to us. It's like they don't know we've rolled for all the technology and are gonna with this game of Axis and Allies.
Cool - always had a soft spot for the Jeep carriers since they delivered Dad's fighter group to Saipan. It's not its chief responsibility, no. It remains to be seen what kind of air-to-air fighter it will be. It's meant to replace F-16s in the AF and Harriers in the USMC, both of which proved perfectly capable in a furball. We'll have to wait and see.
