You do know that on Babylon Five

    1) President Clark was being controlled by an alien creature.

    2) With his dying act, Clark left the piece of information that saved the lives of hundreds of millions of people on Earth.

Jesus Christ!! No he wasn't, and no he didn't!!

You're seriously so deep into the deny-reality-for Bush routine that it swaps over to TV science fiction serials now?!

Clark was not controlled by an alien creature; Londo was. The humans didn't need to be controlled, they were just corrupt. And he didn't leave a message to save Earth's population, but a threat to kill them all!

Londo was but the series clearly indicates that by the time of Earth's liberation that Clark was controlled by a "keeper" as well.

Well, in terms of being piss funny, certainly puts my initial post to shame.

    Oh wait, you're serious?

Might want to re-watch the series and correct what is wrong about your post. Which is everything except the name of the series, the name of the President and his position.

    No, it doesn't.

It does the reverse, with him writing The Ascension of an Ordinary Man over and over as a suicide note with him writing out "scorched earth" as he would rather see the planet devastated than lose.

No. For crying out loud, that was one of the main points of the whole bloody arc! Humans are the one species that do this to themselves! He's not innocent. He's guilty. And he bloody well lied about WMDs in Iraq, too.

I'm genuinely stunned that - in a light-hearted, geek-orientated, poking of fun at his main dislike of Trump - he's managed to make a bit of an arse of himself. You save that for the bigger threads.

The best you can do are lies about me. If you (and so many others here) had decent reasons to be against me you wouldn't need to lie.

Do you want a real answer?

    1) Believe it or not, wordforge (politically) is actually saner and more moderate than many other boards featuring lots of political discussion (like PoliticalForum.com. Tererun can verify that.

    2) Habit and inertia. For some 18 years I've been associated with originally the TrekBBS and then this board where so many members left for once that forum became insane.

    3) I feel obligated in many ways to many members here who offered moral (and sometimes more than moral) support to me and my family in the past.

    4) I know its cliched but in many ways the wordforge community is a family. Sure you have differences with family members. You call them liars, hypocrites, bastards, what have you. Sometimes you think you hate them and wish they were dead. But ultimately, family is still family.

Does that answer your question adequately?

Oh and I knew this was a Babylon 5 thing the moment I saw President Clark. Funny how memory works.

And Clark was not controlled by an alien. He was just an asshole who wanted to rule humanity.

#4 gave me pause. When a family member or friend habitually evidences narcissistic or even psychopathic tendencies (there's only on remaining in my extended family, and she's bunged up in a nursing home and on psychotropic meds so she'll stop leaching off the rest of the family), I do my best to reason with them and, when it's clearly not going to work, I distance myself. Offer solace to their immediate relatives, who usually adopt the attitude "Oh, no, she's fine, really, even if she calls me six times a day" and go on with my life.

With you, I keep telling myself there's a little glimmer of sanity buried in the layers of bullshit, but I'm probably wrong. Still, your daughter reached out to me when you had your surgery and, for her sake, not yours, I'll stay the course.

You mean the people you routinely insult by, among other things, calling them inferior, calling them names and deriding, inter alia, their race, nationality, ethnicity, sexuality, family background, careers, morals and/or religious/non-religious beliefs? Those people Mr. Superior?

Indeed you do understand me in part.

It is difficult to feel obligated to people you feel superior to. But I suppose if you believe you are superior that is an inevitable part of life.

Yes, I understand that this is what makes you, frankly, a total cunt of a man and one unworthy of the respect he demands. In fact this attitude is worthy of disrespect. Have a think about why Mr. Non-Christian.

    "Unprovoked"?

Calling yourself superior means a negative response to your assertion of the same is not "unprovoked". Recognising that your behaviour is contrary to the teachings of Jesus is not unprovoked. It is a response to your conduct.

A man who openly insults those who he claims to have a moral obligation to is in no position to object to any negative reaction.

I will not negative rep this either as I see you are upset but I don't see your opinion that an assertion of superiority should automatically provoke negative reactions.

Yes, I consider myself superior to many other people. There are also people superior to me in some, many, and possibly all respects. Life is like that. No matter how good, honorable and noble you are or how accomplished there is always someone better.

I am not "upset". I don't get annoyed by the internet like you do. Recognising that you are a despicable person doesn't mean I am upset.

An assertion of superiority will provoke negative reactions from people who believe in basic human equality by default. But from you it is particularly galling because if anything you are inferior to the majority of people here. Your career is a disaster. You are a selfish man. Your morals come from a book and not from the heart and head. You lack basic common sense. You do not offer charity or support for others out of your own good instincts, but only do so if your church says it's the right thing to do. You grossly over estimate your own abilities in a great many areas of life, including work. You display lack of understanding for a great many things, including basic human interaction. You have displayed a frequent ability of being unable to work with others. You display zero capacity for understanding or empathising with others. You have had to rely on your family's money to support your own wife and child because you have not been able to build a successful career and hold a career job down for an extended period. You are unable to make friends. You have no grasp of diplomacy. You totally lack introspective. You operate on a platform of double standards but are oblivious to the fact. You lack experience in life. You lead an insular life and are ignorant to people and cultures who differ from you. You call yourself a Christian but don't grasp some of the most basic moral teachings in scripture (including, on point, the requirement not to judge others). I could go on with a dozen or more things.

Suffice it to say these are not the traits of a superior person. Quite the opposite.
