Was just cleaning my XD40. When I unloaded it, the round in the chamber had a good amount of oil on it. It's not penetrating oil - I'm smart enough to not use that, but it's still oil right there on the primer. I've always had this with this gun. I test fired some six month old ammo that had undergone the same circumstances for about six months. It fired fine, but it just makes me nervous! (I rotate ammo every six months).
Yeah, I've been trying to use less. I grew up using lubricant that you pour of a "nipple..." to a lubricant you spray. I think I'm gonna go back, as I struggle applying appropriate amounts of it.
You can use too much? When I bought my .45 the guy said you know it might be close to enough when it starts running down your arm.
