Linda Hamilton has a Carol from TWD look about her. To be fair, if Liam Neeson can be kick-ass in his last five movies (and current movie!) at the implausible age of 66 there's no reason her and Arnold can't be doing heroic action things too.
I'm not worried about their looks though it should be interesting to see how they explain Arnold's look. I'm more worried that the movie is going to be trashy.
I trust Tim Miller. Can anyone even name the directors for 3-5? *Googles their names and resumes* Jesus Christ.
He directed Deadpool. Terminator would be the second film he's directed. So he's got one good thing going for him because Deadpool was awesome.
McG made some really successful action movies that were pretty decent. Terminator: Salvation wasn't horrible, sooooo... Also, it gave us this.
Salvation was decent for what it was. Loved the practical effects and they made great use of the locations they had. The performances given were good, it just needed a stronger story. Had they saved the big Marcus reveal for when he was discovered in the base, and had they stuck to the original ending of Marcus Dread Pirate Robertsing John Connor the movie would have been excellent.
And if this one doesn't make money, they'll pretend they never made it and go make another sequel to T2? This is the fifth attempt I believe. That's got to be a landmark in cynicism.
She was in T2, she was in the scene where they took the chip out of the T800 to switch to read mode and also where the T1000 was pretending to be Sarah in the steel mill.
Trailer comes out Thursday. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/sci-...l-see-the-first-trailer-for-the-movie-a168483
Not a fan of the poster. Flat and Photoshop-y. Also, the tagline sounds a little awkward. Linda Hamilton looks pretty good, though.
That's not a teaser trailer. That's a trailer. People these days don't seem to know what the difference is. Anyway, I suppose it's an action movie. Best I can say about it.
Honestly, it doesn't seem like anything. There's some nice shots, but they don't really give you a lot of clues. If they've added some depth to the story, it could be interesting, but you can't tell from the trailer.
Let's see... Character who believes self human but is actually a terminator. See Terminator: Salvation. Daytime vehicle chase, crashing through buildings. See Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Big vehicles smashing little vehicles aside. See every Terminator film ever. Combat between antagonist driving pursuit vehicle and protagonist in back of pursued vehicle. See every Terminator film ever. Liquid metal terminator. See Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Terminator: Genisys. (and why the F does a liquid metal guy have what looks like mechanical parts when he's in terminator form? What do those components do when the guy is made of liquid metal?) Sudden arrival of badass that can go toe-to-toe with the terminator. See Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator: Genisys. Blasting a liquid metal terminator with an explosive projectile. See Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Mysterious protector who shows up unexpectedly. See every Terminator film ever. Terminator hand-to-hand combat. See Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Terminator: Genisys. Seemingly insignificant person is key to the future. See every Terminator film ever. Arnold old/alternate role. See Terminator: Genisys and deleted Sergeant Candy scene from Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Underwater terminators. See Terminator: Salvation. Combat inside a factory: See The Terminator and Terminator: Salvation. The airplane stuff is new(ish), though there's been helicopter action in several of the films.
The only thing I can think that might make sense is they are erasing all sequels, including T2, but that doesn't explain old Arnie. I'm guessing T1 and T2 still happen and old Arnie is old T-800, but that negates the end of T2, so I don't know. This franchise is all fucked up.
