    I cried so hard.

Then I looked up let's plays on YouTube and saw the ending is the same for everyone. Variety in the episode itself, but again no lasting impact from your choices.

I want this to win game of the year though. It hit me right in the feels.

As I posted in the VGA thread, I don't think it will win GOTY, but I certainly won't be upset if I'm wrong. This title was very glitchy at times, which I find to be forgivable given its episodic nature. Usually, games critics can be unforgiving assholes though.

Who knows. Last year's GOTY, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was a complete mess on PS3. Maybe it will win.

Okay, finished my second go-round on the game. I made entirely different choices than my first time playing, and the end result is the same.

Sure, there are minor variations in the story depending on your choices and which characters you save or allow to die, but the overall plot doesn't change one bit.

In the end, no matter what choices you make, the only people who survive are Christa, Omid and Clementine.

It seems to me, therefore, that Telltale's disclaimer before every episode that your choices affect the story is somewhat overblown. Now what would be extremely interesting is if you could go back to episode two and decide not to take the supplies from the station wagon. I'd be willing to bet the game won't let you. Hmmm....

It doesn't let you. You side with Clementine because she knows it's stealing, but everyone hauls off all the contents of the car anyway. The only difference is in Clementine's outfit, I think she gets a new hoodie if you loot the car.

    Just finished...wow.

It's a shame that decisions don't make more of a difference, but that would make this type of game a hundred times harder to make. It doesn't really bother me though since this was so engrossing, like an interactive tv show.

That after credits scene is a kick to the gut as well. :( Doubt we'll see Clem in the second season of the game, but would be nice to have a cameo at the end of it.

Impossible. She liked both of them and she was terrified of whoever it was.

She couldn't see who it was. So does she take a chance on it being them or does she run and hide...

She has just lost her protector after being kidnapped, and is in a world where you can be eaten by the dead or the living. Anyone you don't know is dangerous.

To my surprise, The Walking Dead wins the VGA for GOTY. I am a little shocked. It certainly deserves it, but I'm just a little uncomfortable putting material like this up against games like Mass Effect and Assassins Creed. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but for different reasons than I do Mass Effect. This is more "interactive story" than it is a game, IMHO.

    Motherf**k!!!

Did anyone know that another episode was released called "400 Days"?

I was about to uninstall The Walking Dead game when I ran it one last time just to see if anything was new. There was a little exclamation mark next to the "download" menu option and... voila!

    Downloading now. So excited! :hyper:

Oh yeah!!! I downloaded it, but I haven't played it yet. I heard it was pretty good.

I wouldn't uninstall it just yet. I think S2 will start in October and may build on your decisions from S1 & 400 Days.

I'm about halfway through episode one of season two. Nowhere near as good as the first season. :(

You know... I've kind of soured on Season 1 after it won all those accolades. It was a great narrative with poor gameplay. My favorite game of 2012, Mass Effect 3 got a lot of criticism for not having a lot of variation in the ending after having made so many choices and the exact same thing could be said about TWD.

But you know what, I've grown to appreciate TWD for what it is... A great narrative.

I played S2E1 last night and I liked it. Not sure if it's going to reach the heights of S1, but I'm on board.

Yes... your choices in season one didn't really affect anything. Telltale Games really oversold the choice aspect when, in reality, it's just a linear narrative.

@WeAreBorg, have you tried the other action adventure from telltale called The Wolf Among Us? I finished it last night and I'm somewhat impressed. It's based off the DC Comics graphic novel Fables and it about classic fairy tale characters using glamour spells to live in modern day New York City. The playable character is the Big Bad Wolf who goes by "Bigby" these days and acts as a Sheriff amongst the Fables. You come in just as a serial killer begins to wreak havoc in the Bronx. I was a little underwhelmed at first but the story really picked up towards the end. For me, it proves that telltale's success with The Walking Dead wasn't just lightening in a bottle. I'm really looking forward to what they will do with Borderlands and Game of Thrones in 2014.

It's a modern version of the classic point-and-click adventures...
Got this in the Telltales Humble Bundle last year...
It's an interesting game even for someone like me who hasen't seen the show...

I finished episode 2 and am about halfway through episode 3 of Season Two.

It's not bad, but definitely not as good as Season One. So far I'm finding episode 3 very cutscene-driven with much less interaction and decision-making than previous episodes.

    Have you played them yet?

    @AlphaMan

Just finished the last episode of season two. Very much a letdown in comparison to the first season. The ending has nowhere near the emotional punch and kind of leaves you hanging. :(
