I tried playing Just Cause 2 and couldn't get into it. Burnout Paradise won't work right on my PC, and it's something I've looked up and searched hard for answers for. No use. I've been dicking around with Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition since I got it from the Humble Weekly Bundle this week. That game is pretty okay. I've been dicking around in Rogue Legacy again, but I'm still at a wall where I can't beat the third boss and none of the upgrades are really helping me. I'm just bad at that game. Played a little Game Dev Story and that seems sweet. I'll probably keep playing that. Playing Solforge every day to get the daily rewards in, but that game needs more features before I can really dedicate time to it. Might actually open "Kanye Quest" since it's reminiscent of Shut up and Jam: Gaiden. That game was good. This seems to be trying to do the same thing, but it's by different people. Cookie Clicker. So... I started GTA V last night. I played for about 2-3 hours and so far, it looks like it's going to be epic. The driving controls are much improved but the mechanic of switching from one character to the next is going to take some getting used to. If the GTA Online functionality pans out as it was advertised, I'd say that this will be a strong GOTY contender, IMHO.
I just got into Realm of the Mad God. Fun little time waster, and free to play. I've also been playing Mechwarrior Online. If you like Battletech/Mechwarrior, it's a no-brainer. Free to play as well. Otherwise, I did a few more runs in Euro Truck Simulator 2 and I'm on my last couple achievements in Papers, Please. I've found most of the endings you get Steam achievements for.
I bought and played every Grand Theft Auto game up to the 4th one and have only finished the Vice City game.
I haven't finished any of them. The closest I got was in IV where I got to the last mission and it was really hard. Unless you count the Lost and Damned and the Ballad of Gay Tony, because I finished those.
GTA 5 is pretty fucking awesome, I have to say. Looks like I wont' be speaking to my wife for about 3 months.
Wow... so that means you skipped Red Dead Redemption? That was a mistake. GTA IV wasn't bad, but it did have pacing issues. Once the story picked up, I couldn't put it down. GTA V seems to have gripped me from the very beginning.
I at some point played a lot of Realm of the Mad Gods. Ended up getting reasonable equipment, getting some of the extra stars on characters or fame or whatever it was. The friends I played with stopped playing when we went home for summer so I stopped as well. I picked it up for brief periods here and there but the magic was lost.
I meant to say Game Dev Tycoon. I played Game Dev Story a couple years ago and this one is by a different company, though very similar. So similar that I called it by the wrong name!
I've never done hookers and blow before, but it has to be something like the rush you get from GTA V. This game is pure awesome!!
I heard people say that about GTA IV, and that one did not live up to San Andreas for me. I think that's why they went back there, but I'm not convinced. The driving interface was the best I'd ever seen, and they fucked it up. They made the map fucking huge, and then cut back on the various means of traversing it. And they cut down on the variety of weapons, too. Will GTA V correct all of these mistakes? I remain skeptical.
I played some more Divekick with a friend yesterday. The game is okay, but I still have the same problem I do in other fighting games in which I still have no idea what I'm doing. Not needing to learn a whole bunch of moves helped, but we had much more fun games when we just played Dive and Kick, who are basically the Ken/Ryu of the game. Oh, and Cookie Clicker. Never not clicking cookies.
I tried to play San Andreas on my 360, but it was a shitty port. I couldn't get the controls to act right so I gave up. I can say that the driving in GTA V is much better than GTA IV... There's no more come and play darts with me and bowl with the other one... And the character switching mechanic helps with getting around the huge map. I haven't had a chance to get online yet, but I can't wait for that.
The fighting controls in San Andreas were really weird. I got a decent chunk into that game but eventually put it down. And the PC Version is ancient so it doesn't have good gamepad support. I could jump through a bunch of hoops to get it, but it's not worth it and it'd still give me keyboard prompts or "Button 3" or whatever. How do I know what button 3 is on my controller?
Did you used to be a big X-Boxer? I thought the controls for Vice City and then San Andreas on the PS2 were ideal. Some of the best Third Person stuff I've ever used.
Something specifically designed to be controversial to generate press? Even though I haven't heard any outrage about it. Kinda like the famous Airport Level in Call of Duty (whatever number it was). It really was rather pointless, but it was controversial.
I've been playing the hell out of Crusader Kings 2 so I can upload into Eu4. I've also been known to play Borderlands 2 from time to time, and I'm not above going way back and shooting some headcrabs when the need arises.
Trevor is the incarnation of all the outlandish shit people do in GTA anyway. For once, the GTA producers have us a character that really just might shoot an RPG into a crowd of people on the streets and run over hookers. He is a hoot, but so far, my favorite is Franklin.
