So what happens now, I wonder? One of the other conglomerates gobbles them up at 10 cents on the dollar, or have the employees been thoroughly Enroned?
I think the appropriate response would be for Sony to release the film to the public domain and let anyone with the balls stream it. This is far more entertaining than the movie itself: hat's off to NK.
Does it even matter to you that the person depicted in that clip is Jesse Jackson or do all black people look alike to you?
NK did the studio a favor. It's pretty clear Sony was fucked up much like GM, except no one is gonna bail 'em out. I just hope that whoever buys the TV production side doesn't shit can The Young and the Restless.
All of a sudden, I'm glad I never bought a PlayStation. Wish BluRay had gone the way of BetaMax though.
I don't think Obama screamed that it was censorship. Yeah, sucks Sony decided to pull it, no, that's not censorship. So he doesn't agree with you, and you're still a loser.
He did say it was a form of censorship, and that being intimidated into self-censorship was even worse.
1. What Quest said. 2. What do you get out of lying? 3. Fuck you, gul. Fuck you with a red rubber dick. (That was for Maud, in case there's a Valhalla)
Obama did call it censorship, but what really struck me, what was really screaming out of those remarks, was that Sony did not consult with the White House before pulling the film. Seriously? I know the people at Sony are incompetent schmucks, but that's just off-the-charts dumb. If you want to know the operational capacity of North Korean terrorists, their ability to pull off their threats, you've got to consult the White House. If you want backing from the government, a backstop against liability in case anything happens while you're showing the film, you've got to consult the White House. If there's just an inkling in the back of your mind that there might be national security implications to pulling a film based on terroristic threats, you've got to consult the White House. The next time some libertarian tell you how the filthy rich have all earned their money, how their wealth is a mark of competence and value added, just point at Sony and laugh at the libertarian.
But to consult with the White House, Sony would have to catch them when they're not on the golf course. Now they face the problem that Obama is heading out on vacation again. They're pretty much on their own with this one. Note that Obama said he would retaliate with a proportional response at a time of his choosing. He will choose a time that doesn't conflict with his foursome.
That's as close as your personality can come to apologizing to anyone, and even that much probably gave you physical pain, so...
There is no propaganda in golf. Everyone talks very quietly, and only about things like club selection and shot placement.
Did it sound like an apology? Guess the post failed in that case. Why would I apologize for expressing an opinion that offends your sensibilities? Perhaps you'd like one of those limp wristed non-apologies in vogue these days? Here's your apology: I'm sorry Dicky, that you don't understand the meaning of the word censorship and that it hurts your feelings when somebody tells you that you're using the word incorrectly. There, feel better now?
He's not so much a partisan tool as a Propaganda Troll. He'd do an Enterpriser flipflop if he thought it would get him more attention. See? He mistook the title of the movie Say Anything as a Sign from Above.
http://money.cnn.com/2014/12/19/med...ponds-to-president-obama/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 Sony: Sony: Obama: "Maybe that would mean more if you had not folded like a cheap suit"
The golf course line always gets me to Crack a smile because it exposes someone as ignorant and rather intellectually lazy. It is a fact that Bush spent much more time at golf course just like he was generally lazy and spent more time on vacation. Yet we have those ignorant Fox Noise watchers repeating the line over and over as if they were saying something profound or even remotely true.
Opps. Those darn facts are showing their liberal bias again. http://www.factcheck.org/2014/08/presidential-vacations/
If you don't believe me, how about Bill Clinton? Former President Bill Clinton alleged that President Barack Obama recently quit a round of golf between them because he did not want to lose him. Speaking before the Humana Challenge golf tournament in La Quinta, California on Thursday, Clinton said on December 2, 2012, Obama and Clinton played thirteen holes before Obama announced he had to “leave as a result of being reelected and getting ready for the inauguration, the legislature coming in and everything–the Congress coming in.” The only thing that will get Obama off the links is having to break away for his own inauguration?! Clinton continued: “I’m only one down and he leaves at (hole) thirteen – says, ‘Gotta go,'” Clinton said. “Hey, you’re talking to somebody that’s had this job and made that excuse.” According to a CNN report, Clinton said Obama was five shots ahead of him after nine holes, but Clinton was making a comeback, picking up four strokes on the first three holes on the back nine.” Records show Obama was on the golf course for under four hours that day. Obama normally spends an average of six hours on the golf course. And while Obama used to struggle to break 100, and has had his game called shit by Michael Jordan, he thinks he can take on Kim Jung Un who routinely shoots in the low 20's and who has shot 18 on several occasions? It's not even a contest.
