The three original trailers for TOR:

And, the new trailer for the Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion coming in October:

Wondering what I've been doing with some of my free time the last four months? This is it. But, in the interest of honesty, the Free to Play (F2P) model that TOR uses is horrible. The only way to actually have fun in the game is to subscribe. For my money, the stories alone are worth the subscription fee.

That said, they're giving subscribers some pretty nice bonuses right now. Your class missions are giving twelve times their normal experience points (12x XP). You can level a character through all four acts without doing any of the normal, sometimes painful grinding.

You should check it out. If anyone is interested, we play on The Ebon Hawk (North American: East Coast).

I dumped Star Trek Online for this. Been playing it on and off for over two years now. Much prefer it. I am on The Progenitor as a sub. I have eight characters now between 55-60, three of which were thanks to the 12xp. Not a super serious player (ops are too long and hard for me and too full of kiddies) but I like that there is something for pretty much any experience level.

Yeah. I made a lot of friends playing STO. But, about 10-15 of us went in together and got our own Teamspeak server and joined those players already playing TOR. I have a Level 60 Sith Sorcerer (DPS), Sith Juggernaut (Tank), Mercenary (DPS), and Jedi Guardian (Tank). I'm working on a Level 57 Jedi Sage (DPS) (ready to start Prelude) and a Level 30 Republic Commando (DPS). I have an Operative and Scoundrel waiting in the wings.

We're all adults. The median age is around 35 years old. So, we've got careers and lives (most of us with spouses and children) and we know real life comes first. It makes raiding a lot easier when it's "us" (many of us have been playing video games together for 2+ years). We've completed everything on Story Mode (SM) and we're starting to work on Hard Mode (HM) Ravagers.

My main is a healer Sage. He's the best geared. Otherwise I have a DPS Marauder, Healer Scoundrel, Tank Vanguard, DPS Assassin, DPS Sniper, DPS Mercenary and a DPS Guardian. I highly recommend the Imperial Agent. The DPS is great on a sniper and the storyline is one of the best. He was my last character of the eight, but has leapfrogged into third place behind my original two in terms of gear and progress. He's that good.

I'm with a guild by it's not that big or greatly active. I've not a hugely sociable player and have never been part of a large guild, either on here or on STO.

Awesome. Having done the Inquisitor story first, I'm saving the Agent story for last. The general consensus is that it's the best of the bunch.

We're, primarily, an Imp group. My DPS Sorcerer and DPS Bounty Hunter have full sets of optimized, six-piece bonus, gear. My Tank Juggernaut is coming along (not optimized and only a two-piece bonus) and I'm working on healing gear sets for my Sorcerer and Bounty Hunter. I have rolled or am rolling their counterparts on the Pub side so I can share gear via the legacy system without having to build them up. I put up good numbers with my Bounty Hunter. Good enough to be on our HM progression team. But, I've fallen really hard for the tanking mechanic. I really, really enjoy tanking with my Juggernaut and Guardian. I've tanked every Operation (Ops) in the game on SM and I've done the Level 50 & 55 Ops on HM and Nightmare Mode (NiM).

For those that don't play yet, some of the Ops are really difficult. After nearly eight months, only 17 guilds in the game have cleared the latest Op, Temple of Sacrifice, in HM. No one has cleared it on our server yet. We're no where near ready to start tackling those big challenges, but we're working on it. I do love the stories. They're fantastic and doubly so since the entire game, even down to the most insignificant side-quest, is fully voiced. That said, I do enjoy the social aspect. I like playing with a group I know. I like playing with a group on voice comms even more. We're all friends and some of us, including myself, have met and had dinner together when we visited the various cities we all live in.

I love this game very much, but sadly I just don't really ever have time to seriously play. So what happens is I take a break for a month or two or three and when I come back I can't remember how to effectively play any of my characters! Usually it's because recent patches have caused me to have to respec my characters and I don't remember what all the abilities do, and I don't feel like re-learning a high(-er) level character.

So I wind up nuking all my characters and roll new ones and start over. That gets old, so now I don't even both playing.

That's been my MO for all my MMOs since I first started with Warhammer Online in 2009. *sigh*

You survive "flavor of the month" foolishness by having one of each class. :ramen:

Though, I have seen some game-play mechanics issues that I don't care for. I like a good challenge. I like that the bosses aren't simple static creatures like a target dummy. But, it seems like the later Ops favor ranged damage over melee damage almost exclusively. That's great for people that want to shoot things with blasters and lightning. It's not so great for those of us that want to indulge in a Star Wars game and engage in light saber combat.

Well, like I said, I don't generally have TIME to play, so what happens is I play long enough to get a character up to level 15 or 20 or so, and then stuff happens and I don't play again for two or three months. When I come back, I have no idea how to play the character so I delete him and make a new one and re-learn how to play 'em from Level 1.

I started this game at launch, but quit shortly thereafter due to MMO burnout. I came back shortly before 12x started and burned out again pretty quickly. I just can't do the MMO hamster wheel anymore.

Then came back for 12x and have no leveled 7 of 8 base classes to 60 thanks to 12x, I will finish #8 this week...My Sith Warrior.

I may go back and redo Jedi Knight though since I'm just not feeling it trying to be a DPS specced guardian, I should have gone sentinel. Or I may just use my free level 60 with KotFE to get a 60 JK.

Mostly doing weeklies to gear all of my companions on Yavin. I really hope they don't destroy that effort by whatever happens with companions in KotFE.

    Playing on Harbinger.
