Much more at the source. Source: Reason Horrifying. But, this merely reinforces what I've read about Joe Arpaio. All I can hope for is that he and Mr. Thomas gets the comeuppance they deserve.
Joe Arpaio gained a lot of political clout in the 90's by opening Tent City and saving the county a lot of money on housing costs for inmates. However, throughout the 00's he really began turning into a fuckwit of the highest caliber. I'm truly starting to think that he's actually evil.
Or like many in positions of power, it went to his head and he felt he could do no wrong. Can happen to the best of them
Power corrupts... No love for the inmates he's in charge of, but it looks like he's built upon that and entered into the realm of cronyism.
People have always asked me why I didn't police like Andy Taylor. My response has always been that I will police like Andy when the real world starts acting like Mayberry.
More like power attracts the already corrupted, at least in this case. Arpaio has always been one to try to get away with just as much as he think he can get away with. The only thing that's changed is that this time he's wrong about what he can get away with. Arpaio is, and always has been, someone who gets his rocks off on making other people suffer.
What - he's been targeting you with traffic violations or something? Didn't think you lived in his neighborhood to know what he does - only know him from what you read on the 'net.
If you mean two pieces of sliver fired from a firearm and delivered to their person post haste to afford them passage across the river styx, then I concur.
Trust me, I know the difference between a jail and a prison. However, I can think of few things more fitting than a lifetime spent as an inmate at Sheriff Joe's Tent City.
Wow. A lot of Phoenix WF. Shall we stage a protest? it's be a Sitdown protest at Mills End in Tempe. Coffee?
Yea, odds are good that would have to be the final episode. Andy: Now Barney, you can't just bust in there and start shooting, these are very daaangerous individuals and the place is loaded with stuff that will blow us all to kingdom come. Go around and cover the back door and I'll go in the front. Barney: Well Ok Andy, but I still think I can shoot their weapons off of 'em where they stand before naaaaary a one of them can draw. Andy: Now look Barney, I'm a tellin' you, we can't go off in there all willy nilly and expect to put a stop to this criminal enterprise if there's nobody left to testify or convict. Just do as I say and we'll all be home for apple pie and 'nilla ice cream at the house. Barney goes around back, trips over a bucket and sticks his foot in it, clomps across the back porch and then procceeds to open the door and announce they are all under arrest... Barney: clomp-clomp. "Haaaaands in the air there, we got the place surrounded!! Lab Rat: Oh yea, here, catch a bullet copper!! *bang!* The bullet misses of course but Barney has been fired upon and the warnings Andy gave slip away like rain off a tin roof.... Barney: Shoot at me will ya!! barney then draws his service pistol and proceeds to shoot back, but he too misses his target but unfortunately does manage to hit one of the flammable jars and set off an explosion... Bang!..... BOOOOOM!!!!* Cut to two angel lawmen floating to Heaven.... Andy: You know Barney, you can be one of the most obstinate individuals on the face of this green Earth but I suppose as I watch it all fade below it doesn't matter much anymore. Looks like piiiie and ice cream are right out now. Barney: Sorry Andy, I'll just give mine to Opie. Roll credits with the familiar whistle for the last time.
The right wing loved him. At least the birther, Trump supporting, talk radio listening portion which controls the right.
Maybe TV will make a show out of his prison sentence "Pink is The New Orange". Yeah he was a big deal back in the day! I could have sworn he was around when I lived in Phoenix in the 80's, but he didn't take power until 1993. Regardless I do remember my in-laws raving about how great he was! Pretty much all conservatives loved him. Maybe there should be term limits for a position like that - damn 24 years is an entire career's worth in that one law enforcement position! That can never end well being a "dictator for life" over an entire metropolitan area.
The whole pink thing is not new. when I was in jail and you wanted to screw with someone you dropped red Kool aid into their laundry. Whatever generic shit they used would stain so well even bleach would not remove it. What is worse is because you are supposed to be uniform you would get in trouble with the corrections officers for having pink clothing or bedsheets.
